On social media Friday, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy identified the driver as 48-year-old Jing Dong, a naturalized U.S. citizen from China who received his CDL from New York State. Duffy said Dong does not speak English.

How did he manage to pass the Naturalization process to become a citizen if he doesn’t speak or understand English?
Maybe he paid someone to take the necessary tests / interviews for him. Easy peasy. They all look alike.
Same way he got a cdl, fraud. He paid a ringer to take the classes and tests.
He got a free pass from somebody who was supposed to test him and make sure he spoke English... They marked him as proficient... He wasn’t... But they checked that box anyways.
They should be charged with the same crimes that he’s charged with.
Or he was given it anyway.
My bet is he didn’t have to bother getting a ringer.

The bonehead trucker on YouTube has reported on cases like this for sadly years. The trucking company or in this case bus company is likely a chameleon carrier that will vanish, and the victims will never get a dime.
E logs was supposed to prevent this. However, there are plenty of YouTube videos showing how easy it is to reset your hours of service if you just ask your company. A shady company will do it in a minute.
