A military adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei warned on Friday that Iran would launch attacks if a US naval blockade continues beyond a certain timeframe.
Mohsen Rezaei, a former chief-commander of the Revolutionary Guards, said the IRGC uses “highly cost-effective drones” and fast boats as key tools of deterrence, adding that Iran is tracking US movements despite what he described as Washington’s attempt to approach “in the dark.”
“The United States is coming toward us in darkness, while we monitor every move they make,” Rezaei said.

I am somewhat frustrated with Trump’s custom of making threats and seemingly not following through with the stated consequence, but to some degree, I understand his inclination for flexibility.
He still does not want to get the US mired into a long, drawn out ground war, nothing that resembles what we just got done trying to do in Iraq and Afghanistan. I don’t want that either. Mr. Trump knows this present war is likely to effect the outcomes of the Mid Term Elections this November.

Yeah, the Republicans would love to have this wrapped up by November. If they don’t, they’re gonna get washed out to sea like a tsunami.
They can still hurt the USA in small ways - hopefully not big.
I can think of many:
1. maybe they have sleeper cells in the USA, or among allies - these will most likely be non-Iranians - could be white, blue-eyed blonde converts to Mohammedanism
2. they could use kamikaze boats
3. they could make a drone swarm
I have no military knowledge so my guesses could very well be stupid, but I’m just saying - don’t discount them YET
