Another new angle on the possible USA/Israel/Iran peace deal has come in, this time from Jerusalem, where Fox News Foreign Correspondent Trey Yingst has his ear to the ground at rather closer range than most of us. He also has a few more details on what the lifting of sanctions will be worth to Iran.
Here are a couple of key points:
The source added that as part of the deal Iran will receive oil sanctions waivers and also have frozen funds and assets released worth billions of dollars.
On Saturday President Trump held a call that included leaders from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Pakistan, aimed at reaching a broader understanding. A separate regional diplomat told Fox News the call was very positive. Good progress is being made. Regional leaders were supportive of the progress and of the breakthrough President Trump achieved with the talks.
That last notion on the assets release, that's interesting indeed. Part of what brought Iran to the table was the billions in assets that have been blocked. More to the point, Iran will be able to start shipping oil again, which will make China happy; China is Iran's major customer for oil.
That's the carrot. Here's the stick.
A regional source who has reviewed the agreement told Fox News the deal states that U.S. forces will stay in the proximity of Iran for 30 days. The context here is that it signals to Iran the military option remains on the table if nuclear issues aren’t resolved or the interim agreement is violated.
Only 30 days?
Granted, the United States military has shown, in recent months, that it can move with amazing celerity when the occasion calls for it, but it would seem prudent to keep rotating some forces in and out for a while longer.

Finally, on Iran's nuclear program, Mr. Yingst has some information there, as well:
Obviously one of the major sticking points is what happens to that nuclear material that remains in Iran… A lot has to do with interpretation. Iranian state media is reporting the current agreement says the return to pre-war status is not on the table. It is a return to pre-war levels… Iranians see this as their country still controlling the Strait of Hormuz.
Then you have the issue of Iran’s nuclear program. We are awaiting these final details within the agreement, but there are questions about what will happen to that highly enriched uranium that remains inside of Iran… Also production facilities that allow the Iranian regime to enrich uranium.
Iran has managed to enrich, by most reports, up to 60 percent enriched uranium, which is a step away from explosive-grade. That's a little too close for comfort, and as Trey Yingst notes, it's still not clear what the final deal will be with regards to the uranium that is currently in Iran.
That will likely be the cusp of any deal. President Trump has stated again and again that his primary sticking point is the dismantlement of Iran's nuclear program. Presuming that's still the case, there will still be the problem of verification; Iran is a big country, mountainous over much of its area, and there are lots of places to hide all manner of facilities.
Here's the problem, and it's one I've been writing about for some time: Any agreement reached that leaves the Islamic theocracy in place will be broken, sooner or later. And President Trump won't be in office forever.

THE FIRST 30 DAYS.....
THEN, WILL SEE
Opening the straits before the uranium is handed over is a mistake. With all the stalling they’ve done under mortal threat, they won’t be any better once the threat is removed and the money spigot turned back on.
He already is trying to find that sweet spot that ensures the people of Iran win their revolution. Too much force and they end up hating Trump . Too little and the regime just murders them again . Its a tough balancing act and I would not trust it to anyone else but Trump.
The terrorist regime in Iran is controlled by the global crime syndicate.
Iran, like the Ukraine and formerly Venezuela, is a black site serving as a headquarters for the cabal to orchestrate worldwide terrorism. (These black sites are also hubs for drug/human trafficking, money laundering, election fraud and bioweapons production.)
The uranium in Iran is a big deal because it’s the same uranium Hillary sold to Russia some years ago, and it is traceable back to Hillary and others.
Show me the deal. Any deal. Then show me how to enforce it. Then show me how long it can or will be enforced.
My money is on Trump has not accomplished anything new, caused a lot of trouble and cost all of us a hell of a lot of money and pain. He himself told Baier just last week that this operation was probably unnecessary after the UGE success of Midnight Hammer.
I supported this last action, the war of February 28, having given Trump benefit of doubt that there was new information that Iran had somehow restored their nuclear program and had other stocks not entombed by Midnight Hammer. I believe I gave him too much credibility.
“his primary sticking point is the dismantlement of Iran’s nuclear program”
How about the dismantlement of the Islamo psychos still in power? This deal is completely useless because you KNOW the second a democrat takes the Whitehouse all of this is going right out the window. It’s got to be total regime change
South Vietnam, meet Free Iran. Surrender again.
>> sweet spot
that would be the most measurable political indication of success
Yes, if this is how it ends, with a “deal”, then holy cow, Trump is finished. Democraps will nuke us in the midterms. I just can’t believe he would leave it at that, a deal as if you can make a deal with psychopaths. It’s like making a deal with the sky that it won’t rain. Without question the second another Obama or Biden takes office, this deal will go right out the window.
Obviously someone knows stuff we don’t. But, I surely don’t trust them.
The buzz is Netanyahu is said to be engaging in “discussions” with Trump wrt the future
of “negotiations” with Iran following the 12-day bombing while we are still in a state of war with Iran.
Netanyahu is focused on maintaining “Israel’s freedom of action,” amid reports of not unpredicted disagreements w/ Trump over whether to pursue diplomacy or further military action (costing US taxpayers a billion dollars a day).
Reports indicate a tense call between Trump and Netanyahu, wherein
Netanyahu expressed skepticism of Trump’s “diplomatic deal”.
Israel preferred continued military pressure;
Trump wants a “talks” and potential for a deal.
Netanyahu own self-serving goals ignore US concerns, and lean to
covering support for regional proxies and “regime change.”
Reports suggest that if diplomatic efforts fail or are deemed insufficient,
Netanyahu would act “independently” wholly financed by US tax dollars.
Netanyahu dismisses US concerns, emphasizing “Israel’s security”
as being paramount to US considerations as articulated by Trump.
$50 the ‘deal’ includes Iran keeping its enriched uranium...
Netanyahu is bummed Trump’s making a deal. Israel prefers extending the war b/c it gives Israel a substantial cut of Trump’s $200 billion supplemental war funding........earmarked as “additional funding” for Israel’s “defense.”
<><>Supplemental Aid (2024): In April 2024, Congress passed the “Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act,” which provided over $26 billion in security assistance to Israel.
<><>Annual Aid (2026): The 2026 defense budget includes $3.8 billion in annual security assistance ($3.3B for Israel’s military financing and $500M for Israel’s missile defense).
<><>In the two years following the October 7, 2023, attacks, the US government has provided over $21.7 billion tax dollars in direct military aid to Israel.
<><>The proposed $200 billion request follows reports that the US has already spent over $17.9 billion tax dollars on military aid to Israel since Oct 7, 2023.
There are so many ‘rumors’ flying around that it is impossible to say who is telling the truth............
A successful revolution against Islam in Iran has this awesome possibility: it spreads to other Islamic countries. Bringing down this evil mind plague after 14 centuries would be like casting the Ring into the Mountain of Doom in Middle Earth !
Maybe I’m naïve, but if I were POTUS, I would pick a remote spot in the Iranian desert, at least 50 miles from nowhere and tell the IRGC and the Mullets to watch that spot.
Then I’d have a thermonuclear bomb or missile detonated at that spot and tell them if you don’t surrender your Uranium and open the strait unconditionally, the next one won’t be in the desert...........
Interesting.
Absolutely! There’s clearly a growing hunger for its finality — the longest war; second to that of Satan’s
Islam is a war plan.
I think you're spot on. Leaving the regime in power, which is exactly what the 'deal' does, only means that "in time" with the petro dollars rolling in, the regime will fully resume its terror and war against little and big Satan.
