CHANGE FOR BETTER SERVICE

Have you ever noticed that the typewriter keyboard places the most frequently used keys far apart from each other? The purpose of this arrangement was to slow down the typing speed. Keys on the machines of the 1800s used to jam if the typist went too fast.

About 40 years ago, the Dvorak Simplified Keyboard was developed. On this keyboard, the most frequently used keys were in the home row, and the right hand did 56 percent more work than the left. Typists using this keyboard could increase their speed up to five times without increasing in error.

Still, we continue with a keyboard designed to be inefficient. Why? We don't like changes. Mark Twain once said, "Only a wet baby welcomes a change."

However, today's military requires innovative, out-of-the-box thinking. Whether we like it or not, we change every day.

Prayer: Almighty God. Help us to be more creative, thoughtful, and pro-active in serving our country. Amen.

But does the DVORAK keyboard help us two-finger hunt-and-peck types?

Howdy, Kathy.

The plants are enjoying the rain a little TOO much. LOL Crazy how much the grass has grown already.
A little dry time today and even a little sunshine to give us a break so an ark isn’t needed just yet. More rain and storms moving in tonight though. Light shows to the south and the NW right now and I was outside watching a little. Only saw one bolt. The rest is staying up in the clouds but really lighting up the sky.

I saw blue sky up your way this afternoon. Most was to the west but it looked like you might have gotten a little sunshine this afternoon.

The Cost - Memorial Day Remembered
In 1975 I was attached to a Marine unit that included service as Honor Guard, during the waning months of Vietnam. This is my story.

Comments below the video:

Respects to all our fallen brothers and sisters this Memorial Day. Semper Fi!

Bronze Star, Purple Heart

“My late husband served 2 tours in Viet Nam. Many friends served as well. My best friend growing up lost her brother in Viet Nam. I still remember the day the Chaplan came to her door with the death announcement, I was 12. Cost of Viet Nam never goes away.”

Good evening, decal, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.

Don’t think it would be much help for the 2 finger typists.
I was always amazed at how fast my Dad could 2 finger hunt-and-peck. And I’m way to old to relearn.

The Ones Who Can’t Be Here Anymore

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRrfJ_XHIO4&list=RDRRrfJ_XHIO4&start_radio=1

Today, we pause to honor and remember those who served. This special Boondock Buzz tribute features military history and scenes that evoke remembrance for our soldiers. It’s a moment to thank every veteran for their sacrifices in times of war. This Memorial Day, we honor every soul who gave everything so we could live free. This original tribute song was written and produced exclusively for Big E’s Boondock Buzz using SUNO AI β€” because no copyright-free library could capture what this day means to us, from Big E, Krissy, and Bear β€” full-time RVers crisscrossing the country β€” this one’s personal. We’ve stood at the memorials. We’ve met the families. This song is for them.🎧 All music in this video is 100% original for Big E’s Booondock BuzzI β€” no copyrighted tracks. If this moved you, share it with someone who needs to hear it today. That’s the best way to say thank you to the ones who can’t be here.

The little patches of blue sky and sunshine are getting bigger and bigger...maybe all the overcast/clouds will all go away. Lots of sun at my house right now.

Glad you are at least getting some light shows.

Yes, it’s cleared off nicely the past hour or so and finally reaching your side of town. Very pretty on the cam. If the sun would STAY out for several days, it would get green there in a hurry. Leaves are out on the trees but they’re a little pale.

I’m glad the last light show I was watching passed just west of here. The edge of that storm passed over the farm and it was a little crazy for a few minutes. The power blipped a couple of times while the wind blew.
Looks like that’s it for the night. The big “ugly” that came up through MS and AL all day is falling apart now that it got up here. Suits me fine!

Extra prayers for Israel...

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.

May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.

May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.
