Somewhere, Ron DeSantis has got to be sitting back, booted feet propped on his desk, laughing and smoking a cigar at what has been playing out in Florida's 20th Congressional District.
As RedState readers will recall, at the governor's urging, the Sunshine State redrew its congressional map in late April just as the Supreme Court's ruling in Louisiana v. Callais was being handed down. Republicans hold 20 of Florida's 28 congressional seats. The new map, if it survives the current court challenges, could potentially net them another four seats in the upcoming midterm elections.
One of the districts impacted was District 25, which longtime Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz currently represents. That district will be far more GOP-friendly under the new map, so Wasserman Schultz had a decision to make. On Friday, she announced it, and it has infuriated black Democrats in the state.
Speculation had been swirling for weeks that Wasserman Schultz would switch districts and run for the open seat in District 20, the one formerly held by disgraced now-former Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D). But that district is one of those majority minority ones, and several black Democrats who already declared their intentions to run for it openly warned the former Democrat National Committee Chairwoman off of it.
She didn't listen, and on Friday, she made it official that she intends to run in District 20 - complete with a framed poster of former President Barack Obama in the background, of course:
Today, I’m announcing my candidacy for Florida’s 20th congressional district.
I’ll continue to use my seniority in Washington to make Broward a safer, less expensive place to live, raise a family, and retire. We cannot let Trump and DeSantis take away Broward County’s power. pic.twitter.com/q2BLHlX8Xx

She should get with creepy Steve Cohen (D-perv-TN) and campaign at KFC's together.
Section 8 women, children and Mayonnaise hardest hit.
“Republicans hold 20 of Florida’s 28 congressional seats.”
There are an awful LOT of us with Conservative Values, Morals and Ethics...all across America!
Is there some reason we can’t obtain this majority in EVERY ONE OF, ‘These United States?’
Frustrating!
Wake the f up black people. You re the democrat party farm equipment. Name one thing that has improved for blacks under democrat, or even black, leadership? More generational welfare doesn’t count. Black American culture is violent, rotten, and destructive and gets worse the longer the democrats are in charge.
You’d think blacks had to write their vote on wax paper with ball point pens.
They’re eating each other.
Blacks are finding out, with all the other new special interests that are now in this country, that the Democrats just aren’t that into them anymore.
But what brand of Mayo?.....................
So true. The sparkle has worn off. Now Democrats only care about homos, transvestites,
freaks of every stripe. The Democrats have utterly abandoned their Negro clientele.
To quote, sort of, the great Groucho Marx, “Whatever she does ,I’m against it”.
(Original Groucho: : “Whatever it is, I’m against it”).
I can say that about 99,9% of things Dems say or do.
It was Debbie’s party screaming there were “black congressional seats”. Debbie needs to shut up and sit in the back of the bus.
You forgot about criminals and illegal aliens.
This sounds like something Hakeem Jeffries would cobble together, thinking it was something new.
All he understands is playing what remains of the Race Card.
Listen here ni, eh, bro. If you don't vote for Debbie Washerwoman Schlutz then you ain't black!
