The remains of the second missing US soldier who disappeared earlier this month during African Lion, a training exercise in Morocco, have been recovered.
The second missing soldier was identified as Spc. Mariyah Symone Collington of Taveras, Florida.
She was 19 years old.
“Royal Moroccan Armed Forces transported the Soldier’s remains by a Moroccan helicopter to the morgue of Moulay El Hassan Military Hospital in Guelmim, Morocco,” the US Army statement said.

Earlier this week, the remains of Lamont Key Jr., the other missing US soldier who disappeared earlier this month during African Lion, a training exercise in Morocco, were recovered.

Missing soldier Lamont Key Jr. found dead in Morocco “A Moroccan military search team found the Soldier in the water along the shoreline at approximately 8:55 a.m. local time, May 9, within roughly one mile of where both Soldiers reportedly entered the ocean,” U.S Army Europe and Africa said in a statement.
The two soldiers were off duty when they reportedly went missing while they were hiking.
The two fell off a cliff and into the Atlantic Ocean.
Morocco and France assisted the US in the search for the missing US service members.
“The search for the two U.S. soldiers has covered more than 4,600 square miles of sea and coastal area, said Col. Alex C. Tignor, a spokesman for the Army’s Southern European Task Force, Africa, in an email Saturday,” Stars and Stripes reported.
Just fell off a cliff? Something about this is very suspicious.

Wondering what an LT is doing wandering around with a female enlisted soldier.
There was a third person witnessed the situation and jumped in but could not rescue them..........
Rape, murder, suicide, or any combination of the three. But, just HIKING? We’re smarter than that! Hopefully a thorough autopsy of her body might hold the key.
You have to ask?...........Fraternizing...........
📌 Details? Need more information

Yes. And earlier reports stated that apparently the Lieutenant fell in and the young female specialist and that third person jumped in to help him but were unable to accomplish that. Not a good idea to attempt to save someone in the water if you are a weak swimmer.
The more I think about this it may be more likely the female fell in first and the other two unsuccessfully attempted a rescue.
That’s what I’m leaning on is no foul play. What I learned about traveling to many countries was that the US makes a great effort to make things safe on roads and national parks. Other countries not so much. No railing along cliffs or roads, you fall off, you fall off.
Could be a pic of him from years ago.
Agree...one would hope that military people would be quite aware of the necessity to be on solid ground. On the other hand, they coulda’ been under the influence of chemical substances. Being in the water for a while could leach out lots of stuff...
“God is nigh”
They both voluntarily took the oath, served diligently and were two young people off duty trying to relax. They deserve to be honored.
