The deranged firebug accused of igniting the devastating Palisades Fire had become “fixated” with Luigi Mangione in the lead up to the deadly blaze — and then allegedly suggested the inferno was started out of “resentment of the rich,” prosecutors said.
Jonathan Rinderknecht, 30, was obsessed with the accused healthcare CEO killer and had routinely searched “free Luigi Mangione” and “lets take down all the billionaires” online, court documents show.
In the weeks and hours before allegedly sparking the blaze that triggered the catastrophic Palisades fire, Rinderknecht — who worked as an Uber driver — ranted to customers about Mangione’s arrest, too.
“Many of defendant’s Uber passengers on December 31, 2024 and January 1, 2025, described defendant as angry, intense, driving erratically, and ranting about being ‘pissed off at the world’ and Luigi Mangione, capitalism, and vigilantism,” prosecutors noted in a trial memorandum.
When asked why he ultimately set the blaze, Rinderknecht allegedly responded that it “would be out of resentment of the rich enjoying their money as ‘we’re basically being enslaved by them’ and compared such an act of ‘desperation’ to the murder for which Mangione was charged,” according to the memo.
Rinderknecht has pleaded not guilty to a string of federal arson charges for sparking the inferno that leveled 7,000 homes and businesses, caused $150 billion in damages and left 12 people dead in early 2025.
The alleged firebug has been jailed without bail since his arrest last October.

I won’t hold my breath for the MSM to finally do some soul-searching and admit that the constant drum-beat of “Trump is Hitler” and “the rich are screwing you” rhetoric is driving people like this guy over the edge to try to kill people. Eventually, in its quest to defeat Trump, demonize his supporters and advance the Dem agenda, the MSM normalizes the most violent attacks on Republicans, conservatives, “the rich” or whoever is the outgroup of the day. In this case, residents of the Palisades, who to this guy were rich Republican voters.
As an aside, its interesting that this guy is fixated on Luigi Mangione. We’ll see if he is good looking enough to develop a fan club and cult following like Mangione such that his crimes are excused as some social justice calling, or if he’ll get treated like a normal criminal.

This idiot is a fool and economic illiterate, steeped in years of government schools that teach the rich don’t pay their fair share of taxes - and the rich are rich off of the backs of the working class and minorities.
Not taught in schools, or ever said by Gov. Newsom (who also believes the rich do not pay their fair share of taxes):

A lot of the homes in the Palisades were generational homes, passed down from previous generations - the current denizens often teachers, police, city workers, etc., are not the so-called “Rich.” Many can’t afford to rebuilt and/or had no insurance and are selling out to developers.
He should be burned at the stake on Pay-Per-View alongside his hero to raise money for the victims.

Newscume admitted it only days after the fire — to forbid all single family homes and replace with “illegals palaces”. All, mind you, paid for via Fed $$ from the other 49 states.
