Ministers set to discuss renewing Gaza war as Hamas refuses to disarm — report (Israel)

The security cabinet is reportedly scheduled to discuss renewing the war in Gaza on Sunday, as negotiations to disarm Hamas and demilitarize the Strip stall.

“Hamas is not standing by the agreement on disarmament. We are holding discussions with mediators,” an Israeli official told the Kan public broadcaster on Saturday evening.

The disarmament of Hamas has been a key sticking point in talks to implement the plan and cement the ceasefire reached in October, which halted two years of full-blown war triggered by Hamas’s October 7, 2023, invasion of southern Israel. Violence has continued in Gaza, much of which remains in ruins.

Nickolay Mladenov, leading Trump’s Board of Peace, held talks with Hamas leaders for weeks, and toward the beginning of last month, gave the group until April 11 to accept the Board of Peace’s proposal for it to gradually hand over all of its arms.

The plan, partially leaked to the media, follows an eight-month timeline, beginning with Hamas handing over its heavy weaponry and maps of its tunnel network within 90 days.

Instead, the terror group submitted a counter-offer to the Board of Peace, insisting that the issue of its weapons only be addressed as part of a framework culminating in the establishment of a Palestinian state.

This is what not getting unconditional surrender gets you.

It's too bad we haven't spent the last month dropping eggs on Iran instead of sitting around waiting for them to fry.

Hamas has had the bulk of it’s “income” cut to almost zero.

Most of their leadership has been blown away.

There are a few armed families in there apart from Hamas that protect themselves but have not taken over.

The IRGC will be no different. Thinking we will just wait them out or that the citizenry will rise up is a fool’s fantasy.

There used to be an American comedy show about the Marines called “Gomer Pyle”. One of his favorite lines that would cause outrage to his superiors was when he would naively state:

“Surprise surprise, surprise”!

That is the absurd state of the world regarding Arab-Islamic terror.

How stupid do you have to be to believe that HAMAS would EVER give up their weapons?

I don’t know, go ask the dipsh*t diplomats and politicians who hatched this incredibly stupid assumption.

100% of all food utilities everything comes Israel. Simple solution would have been weapons for food. All the food they want, just pay for with weapons. Ham would have become the true perpetrator of genocide. The world wanted peace. The Middle East acted like they were on trumps side. Israel simply line up the trucks at the border. Each truck costs x number of weapons. Either ham is disarmed or they starve. Israel needs to cut all communications and internet to Gaza as well. Would have been easy. Weapons for food. Done

Gun control won’t work in Gaza either.

The Economist said there was something like 7,000 tons of unexploded Israeli bombs in Gaza.

If and when hamas is eliminated, unexploded ordnance can be safely removed. Otherwise, they’d just shoot at the IDF while attempting clean up.

I agree that Hamas needs to be cleaned out completely. Gaza will never be peaceful, prosperous, or normal while Hamas breathes Gazan air.

A war that leaves them alive and in the territory is a failure. Similarly, leaving IRGC in power renders that war a failure. I realize “regime change” is not our stated goal, but as a practical matter it has to happen. I’m sure that this is being worked on in the background, because it must happen. Qatar has been a big part of the problem, and they also have to be dealt with.

I could have told them that at the beginning of the war that they’ll never, ever give up their jihad against Jews and Israel. 99% of Gazan Arabs support Hammas and their goals.

I hate to say this, but if you want stop this crap completely 100% you have one of two ways to go.
1) You export them them to other places around the world and never let them come back,
or
2) You use the military to completely eliminate them all.

They don't have to rebuild. Ignore (but keep an eye on them with drones).

Just look at Haiti today. It's a mess. But we leave them alone.

Gaza is like that. Just make sure they don't get any $$$$.

Bomb the sand naggers, sub-human trash.

They clearly don’t want peace, they want time. Give them neither. This idea that the losers attempt to dictate terms means you haven’t killed enough of them...inflicted enough pain.

Tell the humanitarian types they have a week to get out...............

I believe Trump’s solution is to bring the UAE in and let them run it. Might be the best possible solution.
