Gallup finds U.S. women’s religiosity falling sharply, with older and middle‑aged women showing the steepest declines in importance and attendance.
New Gallup polling shows a sudden rise in religiosity among young men, who are now far more likely than young women to say religion is an important part of their lives.
Data released Tuesday, compiled in 2024 and 2025, found that 42% of men ages 18 to 29 say religion is a very important part of their lives — up from 28% in the previous poll and the highest level since 2000‑01.
By comparison, 29% of women ages 18 to 29 say religion is very important, tying a record low for the survey.
More broadly, Gallup’s polling shows women overall have moved away from religion faster than men. Two decades ago, nearly 80% of women age 65 and older rated religion as very important; in 2024‑25, that dropped to 64%. Among women ages 50 to 64, that number fell from 71% in 2000 to 53% more recently.
The poll shows older men are less likely to be religious than they were decades ago, while middle‑aged men’s views have remained about the same.
Historically, Gallup has found men less religious than women in every age group. This is the first time a male age group ranks higher in religiosity than the same female age group.
Higher religiosity among young men has also led to greater attendance at religious services. The poll found that 40% of men ages 18 to 29 attend services, up from 33% previously — and now surpassing attendance among men ages 30 to 49.
Gallup also reported a sharp partisan divide. Twenty‑six percent of Democratic men attend services, compared with 52% of Republican men. Republican women are about twice as likely to attend services as Democratic women.
Gallup said it is unclear whether this reflects a long‑term trend or a temporary shift, adding that more years of polling will be needed to determine if the change persists.
“The religiosity of Americans as a whole remains at a low ebb, with the importance of religion, self‑reported attendance and identification with a religion all at or near the lowest levels in Gallup’s long‑term trends,” Gallup said. “Yet young men appear to be an emerging exception to the rule.”

Those are the Democrats who are in the liberal mainline denominations, at a guess. I don’t see many liberals in nondenominational congregations.
You know what faith is growing? Islam. They don't soften it to be more inclusive at all. They say 'we have the truth, it's immutable and all other faiths are lying dogs. And here is how you must behave' and people are locked into it, just like they were with the catholic faith prior to the 1950s, when they started to get more "modern" and "inclusive" and everyone started not caring.
They need to wake up, when you lose the women your faith is over.
Yes, but that "worship" is at the Church of the High Holy Homosexual Harridan.
You know, the one with the LGBTQ flag and the migrant government debt hand-out center in its basement.
It seems to me that today’s young “ladies” are too set on having the ability to abort their babies and casual sex than having a relationship with Christ. Seems that younger guys are now more conservative and not out for just a “hook up”.
Probably black and Hispanic Democrat men attend church more often than white Democrat men.
I bet you’re right about that.
Which is why young men <35 are joining the Orthodox Church in droves.
This hardly seems surprising - when’s the last time you saw a male out demanding the right to kill unborn babies?
53% of XXers are nothing but a bunch of angry, hate-filled screaming banshees wanting to take over the planet. Blue-haired Handmaiden tails with tons of mental issues. 100% of them are binary LESBIAN FREAKS who love to blow stuff and spit.
One word: the holy grail of feminism, abortion.
Women are not well-served by liberalism, in the end. No one is.
Lunatic afro nationalist churches (e.g. Jeremiah Wright), islamic militants like the mayor of New York, and various denominations that have drifted into hyper-liberalism (United Methodist, Presbyterian Church of USA, Reformed Jews, Unitarians, etc).
...because many young men don’t want the risk that comes with even trying. Toxic feminism has created a culture that overtly punishes men for any unwanted act.
Maybe this is leading to men not being so corrupted by pop culture (?).
That’s absolutely true.
Just look at your average Tinseltown lefty.
Same with the Catholic Church. Many of the older Boomers have left, especially the women and those in liberal parts of the country, but the young are attending converting in record numbers, especially where they can find more orthodox and traditional parishes. In my area, conservative and traditional parishes are bursting at the seams with young people and young families. Most of the newer attendees at my weekly men's Bible study are young men and it is a delight to have them there because for the longest time it was just a bunch of us old fogies. I find it very hopeful.
Women also have higher “body counts” these days as well. Could they be related?
More women are called out on how their statements and behavior on their TikThot accounts are in conflict with their church attendance and claims of morality.
So they quit lying and drop the religiosity act, because they can't give up their true nature as they show on the social media accounts.
What's changed is that more women tell themselves that they're the star of their own movie, no one else. And now they have the social media accounts to serve as their stage and audience.
