Vanity Fair -- where the TDS level is so high that they actually wrote an overanalytical piece trying to figure out if South Park is sufficiently anti-Trump -- has just sunk what little credibility it had even lower by AGAIN performing over-the-top hype about the former royal couple, Harry & Meghan, that very few normal people have expressed any interest in.
The former royal couple lost their "Sussex" title due to an inability to perform one of the easiest jobs on the planet, which consisted primarily of politely greeting people and not acting like complete jerks. The latter part of the job description appears to have been too much of a burden for the couple to accept, thus resulting in them become a pair of pathetic grifters constantly on the make for entertainment deals which would earn them maximum money with the least effort.
The hype for the ingrate couple deservedly stripped of their royal ranks has been at fever pitch on the pages of Vanity Fair for several years. However, the latest incarnation promoting the deadbeats was so absurd as to result in hype on steroids as you can see in the Tuesday slobbering puff piece, "A Complete List of Meghan and Harry’s Creative Projects, From Documentaries to Unrealized Podcasts." The staffer who apparently drew the short straw and was stuck with this assignment was Erin Vanderhoof. Her latest effort is not to be confused with her March 27 tongue bath filled with deep concern over a couple few really care about, "Harry and Meghan’s Hollywood Dreams Hit a Speed Bump, but With Love, Meghan Isn’t Dead at Netflix Yet."

“And what the exact form of that “incentive” takes I don’t know but it has to exist.”
It may be as simple as an owner or editor gets invited to “High Society” affairs hosted by the couple. So, access and closeness to a station that elevates the editor or owner for the sake of his/her/its ego. It’s probably the same with other luminaries such as the Clintons.
I slightly disagree.
There is a relatively massive cottage industry of “Sussex Squad” hitmen who prop up Meghan and, to a much lesser extent, Harry and go after the “haters.”
Concurrently, there are tons of “haters” who spend lots of time micro analyzing these grifters’ moves, errors, and social media posts.
Why and who cares?
The “why” answer is that the grifters are likely planning to take the Crown by way of securing the hearts of the GenZ lot (who, in thenUK, poll amazing well) and effectively have the public force William et al to abdicate. The “haters” want to stop this movement.
‘Who cares” is more nuanced. Clearly this is a UK problem. But there are many conservatives who are “haters” and, for them, this is part of the US culture war.
Personally, I could care less about what happens to the Monarchy or the grifters, aside from God’s Will being done.
But it IS insightful from a Situational Awareness perspective.

The problem with that theory is that even most of "High Society" SHUNS the more than obvious grifting couple.
They may still have ‘friends’ among the Celebrity Society; but that is not ‘High Society’.
If they want money, how about a 1 billion prize hunger games with the Markles and Kardashians as the tributes?
“When Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020, they made it abundantly clear they wanted privacy.”
Some privacy when they’re splashed everywhere - mostly from self-promotion.
I wasn’t aware that Vanity Fair was even in business any longer, the entire magazine industry has almost gone under.
That, and no one cares....
Think Beautiful on YT if ya want the latest cringe on the Markle. She funny.
@ThinkBeautiful
Tom Bower’s latest book is a meticulous take-down of the pair, complete with 27 or so pages of endnotes.
Harry has just been sued by Sentebale for defamation.
His case against ANL looks like it’s toast.
Ditto for the one against the Home Office for taxpayer funded 24/7 security anywhere and all the time.
And as for the Harkles’ joint appearance at that Netflix party the other night...
Well, have a look...
Vanity Fair, like every other mainstream media-focused publication, is owned by the Newhouses. Who knows, maybe Steven Newhouse (the current generation of Newhouse management) has a thing for Meghan? I could speculate further about how she gets such great publicity from him . . . . .
Vanity Fair published a wonderful article written by the late Christopher Hitchens in 2004. It was entitled: “Women Are Not Funny.” Made me realize what I was doing wrong all along.
I agree - it's sort of "glamorous life by proxy" - similar to the reason so many people (mostly women) obsessed over Princess Diana.
Whatever, VF. Their families are more conservative than most Freepers. The boys will skewer anything and anybody, but VF is too stupid to figure that out after 30 seasons of SOUTH PARK.
