CBS News announced Monday that Byron Allen’s “Comics Unleashed” will replace Stephen Colbert's late-night show when it airs its final episode next month.
The network announced it was pulling the plug on the iconic program last year because of "financial reasons," and said the decision to end the show after 10 seasons was not a reflection on the years-long host.
Colbert has confirmed that he is not being replaced by the network, but that it is instead eliminating the entire program.
CBS said the new program will debut on May 22, the day after Colbert's show is expected to release its final episode. The program will begin at 11:35 p.m. and feature two back-to-back, half-hour “Comics Unleashed” episodes on weekdays.
Allen's program “Funny You Should Ask,” will air at 12:37 a.m. after the two episodes of "Comics Unleashed," which is currently airing on the network at 12:37 a.m.
“I created and launched ‘Comics Unleashed’ 20 years ago so my fellow comedians could have a platform to do what we all love — make people laugh,” Allen said in a statement. “I truly appreciate CBS’ confidence in me by picking up our two-hour comedy block of ‘Comics Unleashed’ and ‘Funny You Should Ask,’ because the world can never have enough laughter."

Colbert is the most unctuous, disgusting propagandist of the whole MSM talk-show bunch
and that’s saying something.
Can’t ssay I’d like the replacement any better...After Carson and Leno...just close down the late night shows...it’s a different time.
Might actually watch something funny instead of Colbert Cringe.
Can’t be any worse.
Yes I have despised Colbert for many years going all the way back to his show on Comedy Central. It was nothing but a nightly ridicule of conservatives and devout people. They just hired this scumbag to write the next Lord of the Rings project.
That word “iconic” gets used way too much. Like “bombshell.” Overused by idiots who don’t understand the words they use. Like “inconceivable.”
Up there with Kimmel.
CBS may have walked from the ‘skillet’ (Colbert) over to the ‘frying pan’ (Byron Allen) choosing Allen to host.
I’m pretty sure this is the same Billionaire Byron Allen who has a habit of sueing networks if they don’t accept his shows. He’s a HUGE player of the Race Card.
Who is making these decisions?
Even this would be a huge improvement:
It appears that CBS sold Allen the time according the the link below.
As “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” ends its run next month, CBS has opted to turn its 11:35 p.m. ET post-local news timeslot into a time buy, selling the slot to Byron Allen - who will move back-to-back episodes of his “Comics Unleashed” series down an hour.
The time buy deal is through the 2026-2027 TV season; as part of the deal, Allen will also continue to lease the 12:37 a.m. hour with another strip from his company, the comedy game show “Funny You Should Ask.”
He and his handlers turned what should have been a 5 minute segment about a caricatured, cranky "conservative" into a completely unfunny and stupidly repetitive 9 year show
But it was his soviet-style-with-a-smiling-face regime propaganda of "all things covid" which really put him over the top and turned him truly evil
He is so disgusting would pay money to see him beaten to death on live TV
yep, same billionaire:

“No, no, no, no, no... It’s not a reflection on Colbert! We routinely cancel highly successful and profitable shows...!”
That is because Big Pharma is his biggest sponsors.
Now he can spend more time tearing down JRR Tolkien’s legacy.
A remake of the old Chuck Barris Gong Show?
Never have seen his show once. I figured he’s a democrat but I just looked him up now to see, because really, I did not know.
I saw him once for about 20 seconds, he was so arrogant I could never watch him. How does someone get so pompous? He must have a lot of boot lickers.
I’m sure the station will make sure the comedian only makes fun of the Republicans.
