Trump Needs A ‘Vicious Operator’ To Bring Justice Back To The Justice Department
The Federalist ^ | April 03, 2026 | M.D. Kittle

Government investigator Mike Howell says Pam Bondi, out as attorney general, wasn’t the right fit to take on the weaponizers.

Pam Bondi was President Donald Trump’s second choice for attorney general, and she never quite fit. Bondi often looked uncomfortable in the top prosecutor role, fumbling her way through and failing to meet the demands of a Department of Justice with a mandate to bring the criminals in the corrupt Biden administration to account.

The frustration from the MAGA movement has been mounting for many months. The president’s patience had worn threadbare with an attorney general who — for many reasons — never did deliver on one of Trump’s biggest campaign promises: justice for the people caught in the crosshairs of the left’s political lawfare campaign.

So the president gave Bondi the “Great American” sendoff on his Truth Social platform Thursday and sent his second choice AG packing.

“Pam Bondi is a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend, who faithfully served as my Attorney General over the past year,” Trump wrote Thursday, saluting Bondi for the DOJ’s work in bringing the nation’s murder rate to the lowest level in 125 years.

Maybe Bondi was stuck in an untenable position for what the job entailed, but her biggest problem, one government watchdog says, was her inability to run a tenacious prosecution operation that would send a clear message to the leftist lawfare crowd. Of course, she did herself no favors with the Epstein Files mess.

“I’m not saying Bondi didn’t want to do that, but it certainly didn’t happen,” Mike Howell, president of the Oversight Project, told The Federalist Thursday afternoon in an interview on the Vicki McKenna Show. The conservative organization...

Matt Gaetz was his first choice...or was he? Some freepers say his nomination was a ruse — allowing him to exit Congress and evade an ethics investigation?

Even still: Gaetz, from his new media perch, has since been critical of Trump’s (mostly foreign) policies, which may have caused friction even though the DOJ is technically separate from that...

Yes! Whatever it takes to make that happen, yes!
I have always seen Pirro as our Eric Holder.
Capable of being just as focused and as vicious.

We used to have people in DC that would slap your face and throw down a challenge. Guns or knives, bring your second. Now we have Linda Graham. The crap we call leaders is amazing. Bring back dueling pistols, that’ll thin out our herd of wussies. IMO

If anything were going to happen, it would have already happened.

However, on the plus side, this hope does motivate you to get out and vote in the midterms this November, just in case you were a little lukewarm.

Imagine Judge Pirro marching twelve paces, turning, aiming, sighting down the barrel of a dueling pistol, waiting out the command to fire. I doubt Chuckie or Jefferies could do it. Nancy may be, Linda wouldn’t show up.

Agreed. Whitaker was temp A/G after Sessions and before Barr.

I think Trump should have appointed him. Except conventional wisdom at that time said the Senate would not have approved him.

Screw this. Appoint him as temp now and leave him there.

What Trump needed and needs is a street fighter.
Eff em all.
Get an older man, ex military, preferably an NCO not a DEI officer, that doesn’t have to worry about harm to family and turn him loose!
No women. They nurture or rage too much.
Shake the DOJ up.
Kind of like a Sergent Hartman training raw recruits.
(my Basic Military Training wasn’t quite that bad but close!)
Of course you can’t do that to a civilian but
you get my drift.
They don’t like it, they can get civilian jobs.

It won’t matter who is AG because the whole department is full of democrats.

They aren’t going to eat their own when it comes to lawfare.

The problem is that the opposition within bureaucracies like the DOJ etc. believe that the Dems will take over again.

And the Dems are already announcing they will legally target anyone who “collaborated” with Trump. So there is every incentive for these bureaucracies to stall, obfuscate, sabotage leak, procrastinate, Resist, etc.

It is frankly the same in every Western country if there is a right populist elected who actually wants to change things, rather than just be a swamp “conservative”.

They will have “bureaucratic resistance” and mostly get nowhere.

Tom Homan possibly for the new AG? He’s certainly has the grit necessary to do the job.

If he still wanted a woman in that spot, I’m pretty sure Ms Kellyanne Conway is a lawyer too.

I fear he is considering Todd Blanche. He's made him the interim AG.

Blanche is the same class of stealth traitor as Howard Lutnick, whose family is banking on making billions betting against the tariffs he recommended to Trump.

No matter who it is, they will still be constrained by the law, and by judges. They can’t just arrest people on their.
