President Donald Trump said Sunday that the military is constructing a "massive complex" beneath a planned White House ballroom, which he said will feature bulletproof glass and drone-proof protections while being funded entirely by private donors...

If one goes at least back to 1/20/2017 Inauguration, a 17-minute speech, with key Military Intelligence officers behind him, one sees his 12 years in office (in some form) as a long-range military operation to "drain the swamp" and REMOVE the Deep State cabal.
IIRC, Obama shut down Whitehouse visits for added security measures.
This ballroom is one project where Trump really shines as president. Its going to be an excellent addition to the White House. More than any other president, Trump is going to do it right. He knows what he is doing. He is doing it purely out of love for the country, not to get anything out of it. No contractor is going to dupe him. And its all privately funded. I know that Trump sometimes speaks in hyperbole, but this probably really will be the best construction project ever at the White House. And, of course, its also the most extreme example of TDS ever. The Dems just can’t look at a gift and say thank you.

I’m kinda curious to hear more details on the funding. In the vid clip on AF1 where Trump speaks of this, with pictures and artist-conceptions, Trump says he is one of the donors. However, with a major military aspect underneath, that begs the question of who/what is paying for the ballroom part and who/what is paying for the military part.
Who cares? It’s an improvement.
It's not like Trump is gaining anything personally. This for the people.
As the greatest nation on earth....we should probably look the part. That WAS Jefferson's intention.
The ballroom is a good thing, especially knowing that it is not funded by taxpayers.
However, it might be wise not to remind America’s enemies that there is a bunker-like installation beneath it. But they may already know this anyway, so no harm’s done.

Trump is showing off his construction skills while rubbing leftist noses in it. It’s another one of his monuments. Democrats have vowed to tear it down when they regain the WH but now there’s a national security element for keeping it-visual nose rubbing and it’s constant.

I know! I felt so bad for the glitterati and billionaires having to endure their privations. After a state dinner happened, I walked around in a funk all the next day. Everyone around the water cooler talked about it too…
A few tried to talk about interest rates, the price of food and fuel, skyrocketing health insurance rates etc. But everyone else ignored them and kept on topic that the Louis XIV class in America needed a more luxurious venue.
It’s amazing that Roosevelt, Truman, Ike, JFK, Reagan and the other shallow souls never saw the need or were too weak to make it happen.
HE CERTAINLY HAS HAD MANY PROJECTS OF HIS OWN TO KNOW WHICH CONTRACTORS TO TRUST WITH DEADLINES & CORRECT MATERIALS.
Would the critics of the ballroom’s architecture been happy if Obama had built it using the same architect that designed the Brutalist middle finger of the Obama Presidential Library?
The Kenyan wouldn’t have built what Trump is building, as his motivations were nefarious, while Trump’s motivations is draining the Swamp.
Second sentence says it’s privately funded as well.
