The Senate voted Monday to confirm Markwayne Mullin to lead the Department of Homeland Security as the shutdown of the sprawling agency dragged into its sixth week with no end in sight.
The vote to confirm Mullin, a Republican senator from Oklahoma, as the head of DHS was 54-45, with Sens. John Fetterman, D-Pa., and Martin Heinrich, D-N.M., supporting his confirmation.
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., the chairman of the panel overseeing DHS, voted against Mullin on Monday after he clashed with him at his hearing last week and questioned whether a man with “anger issues” could be trusted to set a good example for ICE and Border Patrol agents.

He is the only one who heard the evidence from Gary Berntsen (about the communist-Islamist cabal’s theft of US elections) and actually did something about it - to insure that the 2024 election would not be stolen just like 2020.
Perhaps his hiding during the J6 event means he was not one who knew it was all staged.

As far as i’m concerned, if that is the Presidents pick, that is where we go.
He has everything on his plate and he asked for it.

I’m concerned that the Senate confirmed him so easily. Thune, McConnell etc are unlikely to support a nominee who will be a strong DHS leader. I know he’s a senator — so that gives him a leg up.
