Orphaned New Hampshire boy tormented by bullies dies by suicide week after 13th birthday

An orphaned boy in New Hampshire took his own life just one week after his 13th birthday when he “couldn’t handle” the relentless bullying he faced at school, his distraught family said.

Josiah Michael Dwinell, 13, jumped off a bridge in Alstead, New Hampshire on March 12 — just eight days after his birthday, his aunt Shaena Lyon confirmed on Facebook.

Josiah’s mother, Amber, passed away unexpectedly in 2021, according to her obituary.

Amber changed her Facebook profile picture to an emblem for “overdose awareness” in 2020. Her cause of death isn’t immediately clear.

Josiah was taken in by his grandmother, who was doing all she could to combat his bullies, according to Lyon.

It’s unclear if Josiah was placed with his five siblings.

Lyon claimed that Josiah was hospitalized numerous times and tried to seek help, but was told by others that “he was seeking attention.”

“He was being bullied at school and on the bus not one person outside his home tried to help him,” she wrote.

Lyon said that Josiah seemingly “decided after a bus ride home that he couldn’t handle the bullying anymore,” eventually pushing him to leap off a high bridge over a river.

She noted that Josiah never learned how to swim.

All those anti-Homeschooling types who ask “what about socialization?” have their answer right here.

I hope they find the bullies and..well…it’s Sunday…I’ll stop there.

Makes my blood boil. Obviously no responsible adult was involved in his poor lad's life.

Play with the angels, son.

Without even reading the details of the story I am 100% certain that there are no men in this family.

No offense to the grandmother, but you really have to be pathologically inert and living in a state of groomed helplessness to let this kind of sh!t go on for so long.

Antisocial media has made our world unbearable. Thankfully, we have AI to help us with the problem...

Unclear as if he was with his 5 siblings?
Poor young man was hospitalized numerous times? Told he was seeking attention?
That kid was totally neglected by so many, it would seem.
D**n sickening tragedy.
Who was running that show? Newsom, Bass,Frey , and Walz?

This s—t’s been going on since the beginning of time and always will make the news a few times a year. Some kids can be unbelievably cruel. Teen years are the most brutal when everyone is trying to understand who tf they are and wtf is happening in their minds and bodies. The bastards at school are lucky the kid didn’t bring a gun and smoke as many as he could. I half wish he would have.

Turning the other cheek and getting away only gets you so far.

I was bullied for some years, as well.

When several people from a later grade choose to harass you, you can’t do anything about it.

The aunt blamed bullies from school but the real problems may have been within the family.

A lot of "anti-bullying" campaigns are an attempt to shift blame when people ask why government in particular doesn't do something about dysfunctional families.

Adults won’t stay in a chronic bullying situation in a work environment or a neighborhood or a family.

Children should be withdrawn from bullying situations, not forced back every school day.

The more the schools try “anti-bullying” stuff the worse it gets. And it’s because they are not allowed to proclaim the sanctity of human life even though that is the entire stated basis for this nation’s Declaration of Independence. They can’t do it because of abortion.

But without that basic foundation - that every life belongs to God and is sacred - there is no reason for kids not to seek the destruction of another person. If we are mere animals then there is no reason not to abandon conscience or any moral/legal code and just become a pack of wolves.

A friend yesterday told about an owl on their farm that she watched swoop down, bite off a chicken’s head, and just leave the carcas right there. When we had ducks we found headless duck carcasses in the yard; we believe it was minks that bit the heads off just for fun and left the carcasses untouched. It’s disgusting. And these kids are even more disgusting. But they got that way because nobody in their lives is giving them real reasons to NOT be that way. If we’re all just animals, why not do mink behavior that “just comes natural”?

Schools may be hamstrung because it would be too controversial or “religious” to actually teach about the Declaration of Independence, although understanding the worldview of the Founders versus other worldviews is actually a critical educational purpose, if the reason to have government-funded schools is to create responsible citizens.

Ultimately it’s the parents’ job though. What’s sad is that parents are just as clueless as their kids because nobody’s taught them either. Many don’t go to church, and many churches don’t even believe the sanctity of human life or anything else that the Bible says. Dark, dark times.

Other reports say he jumped into the Cold River. On Google Maps, the Cold River looks like a mostly dry riverbed. Likely, he was dead when he hit whatever water he jumped into. I would think what little water there might have been would have been frozen last week when it happened.
