SHARETWEET Pentagon brass are quietly prepping for a potential U.S. ground invasion of Iran, even as President Donald Trump insists he’s not sending troops, according to multiple sources cited by CBS News.

Senior military leaders have already submitted detailed requests outlining what it would take to put American boots on the ground as Trump weighs his next move in the escalating U.S.-Israel showdown with Tehran, the sources told CBS.

". . . Trump weighs his next move in the escalating U.S.-Israel showdown with Tehran"

Is the President going to move in and extract the Iranian nuclear material--or claim a beheaded Iranian leadership is Victory enough and close the books on Operation Epic Fury?

It’s no accident we are getting constant and conflicting news stories. It is part of an op and it keeps Iranians guessing and clueless about what is next. The Trump haters react to everything too.

Now that Chuck Norris isn’t available , we have sped up the arrival of those few thousand Marines to take his place

Sending out confusing and conflicting intentions is a well established tactic especially when one side is clearly stronger than the other. This is not a time to knee jerk anything we think is going to happen.

Nope. It’s called trust. I don’t know what’s going on in the Pentagon or in signals. He does. He makes judgments based on far more details and considerations than I think about when I consider this or that issue. He thinks of them day and night, trying to juggle priorities to get as many things to work out as he can. I couldn’t do it. Even in my best day. He can. You turn over jobs to experts when they have to be done right. Trump is the expert. No one will get everything right, but he’s got the best chance of getting most right.

So not a trace of upset. Total trust and total belief that the best person sits behind the presidential seal on the podium. Thank goodness.

Everyone is reporting that Trump is winding down. Surely he wouldn’t fiber about that, would he? //Sarc.//

There are 4500 to 5000 Marines headed to the Gulf in 2 separate MEU’s, the 82nd Airborne is on 6-hour alert, and multiple USN ships and other assets are either headed to the Gulf or already on station.

Today, there appear to be preparations to send the 75th Rangers to seize the airport at Bandar Abbas, which is what Rangers do, and position other Marines or soldiers in the mountains to the north and south of that city to overlook the Strait and, perhaps, prevent the Iranians from shooting fish in a barrel with the high ground overlooking probably hundreds of ships full of oil and gas right now.

It could all just be a bluff, but the Iranians don’t seem to be backing down.

And observe troop / fleet movements. Kharg Island will be taken, at minimum.

The confusion and conflicting reports are part of the operation, it encourages desertions and fear and rumors and even friend on friend fire among the enemy and forces them to constantly make and change plans and move and ration resources, it keeps their military branches and units off balance and living in terror filled chaos and uncertainty.

The nuclear material needs to be retrieved and equipment/facilities destroyed. Boots on the ground will be needed. Saudi and other Gulf states can provide them to get the job done while we provide air support with A10s and other close support assets. No need for our people to be on the ground.

Many times so called details are leaked or announced on purpose as a feint to the enemy. Classic example is WWII fake plans leaked to confuse the enemy, then Normandy attack occurred.

It would not make sense for them not to prepare for all possible or at least probable scenarios. Does not mean it will happen.
