Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) late Tuesday said President Trump has “no reason” to invade Tehran but urged the president to “take” Kharg Island to cripple the Iranian regime’s economy.
“No, we’re not going to evade Iran,” Graham told Fox News’s Sean Hannity. “There’s no reason to, we’re going to destroy their ability to hurt us, have a nuclear weapon, build missiles to hit America and terrorize the region.”
“Kharg Island — 90 percent of their income comes from oil and gas revenue,” he continued, adding that “100 percent of that revenue generating capabilities on a single island, Mr. President, take Kharg Island, this war is over.”
Kharg Island serves as a major hub for oil exports and sits approximately 16 miles off the coast of Iran and 300 miles off the Strait of Hormuz.
Last week, Trump bombarded the island and told reporters he “obliterated” every military target but avoided oil infrastructure for “reasons of decency.”
“Kharg Island — 90 percent of their income comes from oil and gas revenue,” he continued, adding that “100 percent of that revenue generating capabilities on a single island, Mr. President, take Kharg Island, this war is over.”

“However, should Iran, or anyone else, do anything to interfere with the Free and Safe Passage of Ships through the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately reconsider this decision,” the president wrote last Friday in a post on Truth Social.

Trump will line up all the oil he can...get it moving...and THEN....take the Island.
If the Mullahs are making money from Kharg Island, they will not blow up Kharg Island.
If we occupy Kharg Island and block their revenue, they will target the island and blow it up as much as they can. No one wants that.

Taking Kharg Island could be used as an effective strategy to oust the regime and free Iran. Shut the pumps off and don’t turn them back on until another Shah assumes power with a legitimate government.
Sending in troops makes no sense. Bombing a couple pumping stations would make the island inoperative.
Take the island and let them pump ss long as they behave.

The 3 small islands Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb, and Abu Musa re the ones we need to take, then occupy, as they are the keys to interdicting and monitoring the straight of Hormuz. We need to own the straight, just to keep the Oil Kingdoms honest.
I have to scratch my head at a man who has spent a great deal of his life in the military and yet thinks like he is watching a movie or playing a board game.
We don’t need to “take and hold” Khag Island. This has nothing to do with real estate. We need to disable their ability to flow oil through there.
When you think of it that way, the options become more “micro” than “macro.”
We need to take out half a dozen computers or weld a few valves closed. We should be able to do something that could be easily reversed, yet would leave the current regime helpless.
THAT doesn’t take 2,500 Marines or MOAB attacks.
