CHOICES
An elderly carpenter was about to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more leisurely life with his extended family. He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They could get by.
The contractor was very sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end his career. When the carpenter finished his work and the builder came to inspect the house, the contractor handed the front door key to the carpenter. "This is your house, he said, my gift to you." What a shock! If only he had known he was building his own house, he would have done it differently. Now he had to live in the home he had built none too well. So it is with us. Sometimes we build our lives in a distracted way, reacting rather than acting, willing to put up with less than the best. At important points we may not give our best effort. Then with shock we look at the situation we have created and find that we are now living in the house we have built. If we had realized that, we would have built it differently. Think of yourself as the carpenter. Think about your house. Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Build wisely. Life is a do-it-yourself project. Your life today is the result of your attitudes and choices in the past. Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the choices you make today. Unknown

Howdy, Kathy.
Hope you slept in late this morning. That’s what weekends are for! LOL
Bummer to see it’s snowing again up there. At least it isn’t a big storm. Just light snow. But it’s STILL snow. *sigh*

Good evening, radu, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Hope the wind from storms is leaving you alone. Might they bring you some rain?

The storms won’t be here until tomorrow night but we’ll be under a wind advisory tomorrow afternoon into Monday.
Today was beautiful and warm. Blustery when I woke up but it calmed down a couple of hours later, so Champ and I spent a couple of hours together. LOL I mowed the areas with the longest grass to get ahead of the game. The rest isn’t too bad and can wait a little longer.
They keep upping our chances for severe weather tomorrow, which is most displeasing.

Vietnam ‘67 | Frontline Footage Captures Conflict Up Close (1967) | Archive Documentary

In the summer of 1967, the Vietnam War had entered a decisive phase, with more than half a million American troops deployed and US commanders insisting that sustained military pressure was
weakening the communist insurgency. Through August, ITN’s John Edwards and cameraman Ernie Christie reported as heavy combat continued across South Vietnam and the military government
staged the country’s first presidential election in four years. Edwards’ reports captured the harsh realities of combat and rural pacification on the ground, set against official claims that the war was steadily being won. They are presented here in full.
Comments below the video:
“I was a grunt in Vietnam from ‘66 to ‘67, and I knew the war was lost. 196th Light Inf.’
“My father was with the 3rd Marine Div up at the DMZ 68-69. His descriptions of the NVA are frightening - very competent, tough soldiers who would stand and fight (unlike their counterparts in the ARVN).”
“Corruption is the reason why the South Vietnamese government, military or otherwise couldn’t withstand the communist North. “

Sleep wasn’t terrific, but NO alarm is wonderful. Look at the clock and close your eyes. LOL!
I was surpried to see it snowing, but we only ended up with a dusting, thank goodness.

Extra prayers for Israel...

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.

Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.

Indeed, it’s nice to be able to roll over and go back to sleep, then get up when you’re ready.
Looks like the snow is pretty much done with you for now. Could be some scattered stuff later but nothing major close by.
Dang, the 10:00 news just came on and they started with what to expect for tomorrow’s weather and they’ve upped the chances again for severe storms. Yesterday, the threat level was 2 and now it’s 3. Not going to be a fun night.
