NBC News poll: Dems more disliked than Trump, ICE

A new NBC News poll finds that even after years of relentless political controversy and media hostility, President Donald Trump is viewed more favorably than several of the Democrats’ most prominent figures, and even the Democrat Party itself.

The numbers are likely to alarm Democrat strategists. According to the survey, Trump’s favorability rating now exceeds that of both former Vice President Kamala Harris and California Gov. Gavin Newsom. Even the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE), which has long been the target of progressive activism and calls to be abolished — is viewed more positively than the Democratic Party.

This doesn’t mean Trump is universally popular. The same NBC survey found voters divided on many of his policies, with majorities opposing some administration actions such as early military strikes in Iran and aggressive immigration raids. But the larger story emerging from the polling is something different: a deep collapse in public confidence in the Democrats’ leadership and brand.

Polling over the past year has consistently shown Democrat favorability sinking to historic lows. In one NBC survey, the party’s positive rating fell to just 27% — the lowest since the network began polling in 1990. At the same time, Americans remain deeply dissatisfied with the country’s direction, suggesting that voters are not necessarily embracing Republicans as much as they are losing faith in Democrats.

Harris and Newsom have been talked about as possible 2028 presidential contenders. In the poll, both carried net negative favorability ratings, with significantly more voters expressing an unfavorable view than a positive one. That is a serious problem for a party that must soon present a national leader capable of uniting its coalition and competing...

The comparison with ICE is particularly revealing. For nearly a decade, progressive activists and many Democratic politicians have portrayed the agency as a symbol of cruelty and systemic injustice. “Abolish ICE” became a rallying cry during the Trump presidency and remained influential within parts of the Democrats' base.

That said, the new numbers suggest that the messaging campaign has not persuaded the public. In fact, the agency appears to enjoy stronger favorability than the party that has spent years condemning it.

Americans may debate immigration policy, but many still believe that enforcing immigration law is a legitimate function of government.

The question is this -— Will this translate to an election victory for the GOP in the midterms?

THAT’s WHAT MATTERS.

For this poll, here are the details:

https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/wild-poll-finds-trump-more-135336389.html

The survey of 1,000 registered voters, which had a 3.1% margin of error and was conducted between February 27 and March 3, found that 41% of respondents had a positive and 53% had a negative view of Trump, putting Trump 12 points below water. That was noticeably better than both Harris (34%-51%) and Newsom (27%-45%).

Similarly, the GOP (37%-51%) polled significantly better than the Democratic Party (30%-52%). In fact, the latter was rated the second least popular figure or institutions whose popularity was measured by the poll, behind Immigration and Customs Enforcement (38%-56%) and Artificial Intelligence (26%-46%), but ahead of the Islamic Republic of Iran (8%-51%).

The most popular people and things were Pope Leo XIV (42%-8%), Stephen Colbert (35%-25%), Secretary of State Marco Rubio (34%-41%), Sanctuary cities (33%-43%), Vice President JD Vance (38%-49%), and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

Still, Democrats came out on top on the question of which party voters would like to see in control of Congress after the midterms, with 50% expressing a preference for team blue and 44% indicating they’d like Republicans to hold on. That’s a slight improvement for the GOP, which trailed the Democrats by eight in October.

Trump’s net approval rating also ticked upward from -12 (43%-55%) in October to -10 (44%-54%) now.

Depends on who's more energized. The rabid haters on the left, or comfortable conservatives who far too often act on their present comfort levels to motivate them.

...which is why the Dems are hellbent on erasing the electorate and replacing them with immigrants.

The only real poll is what is happening to the Dims. They cannot fake it enough which says everyone outside of the 20% America has turned their backs.

Trump is setting up for a yuge victory to reset the country.

“Depends on who’s more energized.”

It likely depends if the SAVE act passes, if the puke RINOs/GOPe don’t get off their uniparty butts and pass this bill they will get creamed this fall as the turnout will be awful. However, if the SAVE act passes without being stripped the GOPe surrender monkeys just might stay in power this fall.

Not much I like about Bill Maher.

But he has definitely split with the party line on Palestine and the extroverted anti-Semitism.

So a hardline America hating atheist like Maher has softened the hard line support for the Democrats in the media.

I watch the Bill Simmons podcast for sports but Simmons has a network of podcasters who do stuff other than sports.

He was interviewing a Hollywood lefty named Matt Baloney who does a podcast for his network.

And Simmons who worked for Jimmy Kimmel is a transplanted lefty from Massachusetts was lamenting how much LA and California has changed for the worse in the 25 years he has lived there.

Making a sensible observation that maybe the governor should be spending more time in the state trying to fix all the problems than out of state campaigning for POTUS.

This Baloney guy pushed back as if everything in MexiCali was hunky dory.

My point is there are cracks in the Elite Stream Media culture that treated the Democrats as sacred cows and never ever questioned corruption, incompetence and just stupid policies.

Here’s the poll:

https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/27777984-nbc-news-march-2026-poll-03-08-2024-release-final/

According to the poll, Donald Trump’s net favorability rating sits at -12. That is not great. But it is still better than both Kamala Harris and Gavin Newsom, the two leading contenders for the 2028 Democratic nomination. Harris is stuck at -17. Newsom is even worse at -18. So even an endlessly demonized Trump, after years of media attacks and nonstop “threat to democracy” hysteria, is less unpopular than the Democrats’ future. And speaking of 2028 contenders, Marco Rubio’s net favorability tops them all at -7, and JD Vance is next at -11.

I’m just getting started. It gets even uglier for the Democrats.

The Republican Party as a whole is also more popular than the Democratic Party. The GOP’s net favorability comes in at -14. The Democrats clock in at -22. For all the left’s talk about Republicans being “extreme” and “out of step,” voters are looking at both parties and deciding Democrats are the bigger problem. That’s the landscape heading into the midterms.

But the real gut punch for the left is next.

Democrats have waged an all-out war on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) since Trump came back to office. “Abolish ICE” became a rallying cry on the far left. ICE agents were portrayed as villains in campaign ads, Hollywood storylines, and cable news monologues. The narrative was simple: if voters just saw what ICE was doing, they’d turn on the agency and, by extension, on Trump and Republicans.

Instead, the NBC poll shows ICE with a net favorability of -18. That’s still higher than the Democratic Party’s -22. Let that sink in for a moment: after all the hostile coverage, demonization, and organized campaigns to make ICE toxic, the agency is still more popular than the Democratic Party. That has to sting.

A stunning new NBC News poll found that President Donald Trump is still more popular than both his 2024 general election opponent, Kamala Harris, and California Governor Gavin Newsom (D), the two frontrunners to secure their party’s presidential nomination in 2028.

You’d better put some ice on that Surrender Monkeys.

I live in MN.

Many of my conservative friends (come to think of it, I don’t have any liberal ones) don’t bother voting anymore.

They’re so convinced, and with good reason, that the ‘rat fraud is so pervasive that their votes simply don’t count.

I’m hoping passage of the SAVE Act might change that attitude.
