President Donald Trump saluted the six fallen soldiers as their bodies arrived on US soil at a Delaware Air Force base to be prepared for their final resting place on Saturday. The Republican appeared somber as he held his hand to his forehead as the six caskets passed by him, his wife First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, AG Pam Bondi, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles at Dover Air Force Base. The caskets carried the bodies of Nicole Amor, 39; Cody Khork, 35; Robert Marzan, 54; Jeffrey O’Brien, 45; Noah Tietjens, 42; and Declan Coady, 20, who died on Sunday during an Iranian attack on Kuwait.

Most of the images are marked Getty, so we cannot post them on FR. But they certainly do not show our President consulting his watch, but rather he is saluting solelmnly, as are the rest of the administration leaders with him.
I’m glad their bodies were recovered for the sake of their families.
I’ll bet he didn’t check his watch.
Clearly meant to contrast against Bidens disgraceful clock-watching when American coffins were carried past him after the fiasco in Kabul.
Trump does not take any American deaths lightly, and neither does Vance.
I’m so proud of our President and Vice President.
Thank you President Trump, some serve it all.
Who’ll be the first to report that he called them “suckers”?
I didn’t care for President Trump wearing a cap during the ceremony. It seems undignified given the gravity of the occasion.
I agree.
Both Vance and Hegseth are military men and Trump while never having served deeply respects the military.
Was wondering what FDR did to salute troops fallen in D-Day and all I could find was pictures of his funeral.
Figures.
I think some in our political elite see service members as dummies or have a form of resentment towards the military out of ideological reasons seeing how it is historically a very conservative world and represents / projects our national power.
You do not salute unless covered (wearing a hat (cover)).
Nor was he holding his hand to his head, he was paying respects with a military salute.
Casualty rates then were horrific, losing 5,000 KIA a week in the pacific campaign. Nobody had time. Seeing a green Army sedan driving slowly down your block and parking nearby was a common sight and cause for holding your breath hoping the notification team doesn’t knock on your door.
In the “first” World War I think Great Britain lost 10,000 dead in one day, battle of the Somme. They never recovered from that.
Some gave all, all gave and are giving some. Godspeed to all who have and are wearing the uniform of the USA. RIP soldiers, we must never forget.
Trump went to military school as a teenager. He gets it.
You are obviously not familiar with military protocol.
Just a guess.
RIP our fallen heroes.
