What the secular world views as mere geopolitics, many Christians recognize as part of a larger spiritual narrative: a storyline where oppression crumbles and the Gospel flourishes.

President Donald J. Trump’s role in these developments – his flaws notwithstanding – exemplifies a righteous stand against tyranny, potentially ushering in freedom for the Iranian people and opening doors for spiritual revival.

I have had the privilege of teaching the Bible in a technically majority Islamic country, and I have friends who have done far, far more than me--including some who taught in countries that were so extreme that they had to refer to their students simply by a made up first name so that the government could not easily identify them. I hope that fruit is soon abundant in Iran.

The Iranians (Persians) are aryan and have a long history of Zoroastrianism. They share common beliefs with Christians, such as an afterlife, trinity, and angels. Many Persians were Muslim in public and Zoroastrian in private. The move to Christianity should seem like a natural evolution.

About a year ago, we had a married missionary couple that we help support give a talk to our Sunday school class.

The man is a computer geek and developed a Bible phone app for any language. The main feature of the app was that the face and icon was a calculator. From there, the Bible could be opened with a entered code and locked back to a working calculator with one key entry.

This feature was needed if security people confiscated any phone(s).

They said they had been in the ‘Stans and hinted Iran.

I have read that the Magi were likley Babylonian, because they were more likely to be studying the stars than others.

In an interesting speech today, among other remarks Netanyahu said that Israelis feel a sense of gratitude towards the Persians for Cyrus the Great sending them home after he conquered Babylon.
