A recent U.S. Geological Survey assessment of previously undiscovered gas and oil in Texas' Permian Basin has found that there are enough resources there to fuel the entire nation for months.

Good news if true but I don’t trust AI to be correct.

I would say that sentence was an advertisement that the poster mistakenly included in his copy/paste.
AI cannot find oil or gas deposits as its not a physical entity like a human.

OK

There were not enough dinosaurs for this much oil.

That old teaching needs to be replaced with something scientifically defensible.

How many seconds will it take for a federal judge to ban it all and destroy all of records of the discovery?

Insect carcasses. Primarily Ants.

Chitin. It is found in the exoskeletons of insects, crustaceans (shrimp, crabs), arachnids, fungi cell walls, and algae.

I believe it has been shown that oil is being produced by a means that is possibly understood by some, but not all. This has happened before, if I am correct.

The “experts” don’t like the abiotic oil theory. Doesn’t mean it’s wrong, it means they won’t even consider it.

Don't mean to be teaching (or preaching), but here is a suggestion. Instead of copying the article as shown on the website, which usually includes ads, copy using the reader function of your browser which shows only text. When there are excerpt requirements (no more than 300 words), here is what you can post:

A recent U.S. Geological Survey assessment of previously undiscovered gas and oil in Texas' Permian Basin has found that there are enough resources there to fuel the entire nation for months.

The gas and oil, measured in trillions of cubic feet and billions of barrels, are located in the Woodford and Barnett shale, which to date have produced only a day's worth of U.S. oil consumption.

The assessment found that there are technically recoverable resources of 28.3 trillion cubic feet of gas and 1.6 billion barrels of oil, the USGS said in their Wednesday release.

According to the USGS, that's enough gas to supply the United States for 10 months at the current rate of consumption, and enough oil for 10 weeks.

The Woodford and Barnett shales, which stretch from the Permian Basin to southeastern New Mexico, have produced about 26 million barrels of oil since the late 90s, the USGS said — or enough oil for one day of U.S. consumption.

Due to the depth of these undiscovered deposits, USGS said, it was impossible to get to them before today's more advanced production technologies.

"The U.S. economy and our way of life depend on energy, and USGS oil and gas assessments point to resources that industry hasn’t discovered yet. In this case, we have assessed there are significant undiscovered resources in the Woodford and Barnett shales in the Permian Basin," said Ned Mamula, director of the USGS. The Source: Information in this article comes from the U.S. Geological Survey.

Having said the above, the oil and gas reserves in the New Mexico portion of the Permian Basin are under continual attack by the environmental radicals in Santa Fe and in the NM legislature. This year’s session ended only six hours ago (at noon) and a strict gun ban was narrowly defeated along with a climate change provision (”Clear Horizons”) that would have devastated fossil fuel use in the state, requiring more EV use, putting controls on businesses and new home construction. The radicals mantra “there’s always next year.”
