I actually have stories for about some of these.

My father was working for Coleco in West Hartford, CT and had access to Cabbage Patch dolls and made a profit.

My cousin was married to the 2nd mate on the Valdez, and he was trying to expose Hazelwood’s drinking for a long time, and was slapped down over it.

My college dorm mates were trying to persuade me to watch the last episode of MASH, thinking it would be funny for me to watch it, as I had never see the show. I declined.

Bob Greene coined that right after I started attending U of Chicago. His column ran in the Chicago Tribune. (Also, the first Far Side I ever read was the infamous “Cow Tools”. I was hooked.
