NEW YORK/ WASHINGTON, Feb 16 (Reuters) - A U.S. federal judge in Pennsylvania ordered the National Park Service on Monday to reinstall a slavery exhibit at a Philadelphia historic site, pending the outcome of litigation after the city sued the government over its removal.

The exhibit was dismantled and removed last month in response to President Donald Trump's claims, rejected by civil rights groups, of an "anti-American ideology" at historical and cultural institutions.

"The government claims it alone has the power to erase, alter, remove and hide historical accounts on taxpayer and local government-funded monuments within its control," U.S. District Judge Cynthia Rufe wrote in her opinion.

"Its claims in this regard echo Big Brother's domain in Orwell's '1984,'" Rufe added, referring to the dystopian novel by George Orwell.

The National Park Service and Philadelphia did not respond to requests for comment.

The judge says the government doesn't have the right to decide on its own, and then she--as part of the government--rules on her own.

Black-robed tyrants echo Big Brother's domain in Orwell's '1984'.

Somebody, some person, paid by the taxpayer, working for the government, in this case, the Nation Park Service, which is part of the Executive branch of the federal government, has to manage parks, museums, exhibits, etc.

Someone has to decide what is displayed, shown, talked about, guarded, housed, protected, etc. etc., while other things have to be rejected. This is called curation.

So the judge is saying that the Administration cannot be curators of the government, which the people elected them to run, cannot because that would be Orwellian.

She has appointed HERSELF—and only herself—to decide what is and isn’t displayed.

Since when UNELECTED judges have superior power over elected officials? Black robes are out of control. Congress needs to abolish these judges.

If Obama or Biden had done this, like when he moved Churchill’s bust to the storeroom, the judge would be fine with it.

But this is Trump!

One must use a ruling to declare Orangeman bad, or Big Brother.

It does and the National Park Service is not local.

This judge is a rooty toot and probably part of the Democrat color revolution.
The day of reckoning is coming for those engaged in attempting to overthrow the U.S.A.

“”””If Obama or Biden had done this, like when he moved Churchill’s bust to the storeroom, the judge would be fine with it”””

The Biden administration did do this when they removed historical monuments to Southern Civil War Generals and renamed bases.

This ruling will almost certainly be overturned at the appeals level as are most of the rulings from leftist district court judges.

Deduct the costs from her judicial budget. Her bench mandates - her bench pays.

Cannot believe this crap. Nor the gaslighting that goes with it.

Big Brother? How about your COVID crap?

LOL about altering and erasing etc.

Trump is right in this regard.

I SAW THAT BUNCH OF CRAP. Back in 2016 it was my first gag-me (truly) moment at a historic site. The violins all out, having to tell us all about how bad AMERICA treated blacks.

THIS is the manipulation of history that goes on…and it’s gotten worse.

In 2019, realized for the first time just how bad this got. Having been at several Civil War battle sites over the years, in Fredericksburg etc it became absolutely clear. Not only had every damned site been “altered” to FORCE displays about slavery in every damn visitor center, but we learned a Newspeak term yet again…”ENSLAVED PEOPLE”. Can’t say SLAVES, must be ENSLAVED PEOPLE.

BTW, in the Philly sojourn, we did the Congress Indeendence Hall tour. I cringed when I saw we’d get a black man tour guide (this was AFTER the travesty at the Liberty Bell). However, he gave a fantastic tour complete with discussing why what the Foudners did was amazing….and no apologies or shaming regarding slavery, etc. I told him how great it was.

Seriously, we need something done to curb these out of control judges. SCOTUS won’t do it, Congress won’t, and the President can’t, or can he? Bondi should charge every one of these tyrants with judicial tyranny and send them to prison. Anyone who opens their mouth to complain just charge them with collusion and put them in prison too.

This is at George Washington’s home when he was President and the capital was in Philadelphia. They made an exhibit on his slaves.

You don’t set policy for The National Park Service. We have a President, and a Secretary of the Interior who have jurisdiction. Now kindly go f*** yourself.
