KEEPING THE FAITH

The only survivor of a shipwreck washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.

Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements, and to store his few possessions.

But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky. The worst had happened; everything was lost. He was stung with grief and anger. "God, how could you do this to me!" he cried.

Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied.

It is easy to get discouraged when things are going bad. But we shouldn't lose heart. Remember, the next time your little hut is burning to the ground ... it just may be a smoke signal that summons the grace of God.

Just when you think you can't take anymore ... the Lord steps in. (I'm sure everyone has their own personal testimony.)

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.

May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.

May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

Howdy, Kathy.

The radar has been showing rain here for a little while but it’s light rain. The air’s so dry, it isn’t reaching the ground. The radar closest to us is on top of one of the mountains and picks up rain as it starts to fall. We’ll get rain later tonight.
I’m glad we aren’t getting what they’ve been dealing with in TX and LA. Tornados. There were eight at one time a little while ago but it’s down to four now.

And glad we aren’t getting snow, like you are. I hope the hit you just had is the past little straggler of the system as it moves on to Canada. You’ve had enough for one day.

Things sure do look happier and cleaner. I couldn’t believe how much we got!

The rain’s been here for a while but not hitting the ground. It’s been light rain and evaporating in our dry, dry air. It’s FINALLY starting to get wet outside now.
