Donald Trump Addresses His Father's Alzheimer's in New Health Interview, Saying Fred Had 'What Do They Call It? [Healthier Than Obama?]

The president told 'New York' magazine he feels "the same as I did 40 years ago" in a new interview about his aging

“I hate to waste a lot of time on this, but if you’re going to write a bad story about my health, I’m going to sue the ass off of New York magazine," he said. "There will be a time when you can write that story, maybe in two years, three years, five years — five years, no one is going to care, I guess. Go ahead and sit down.”

Speculation about Trump's health has run rampant in the year since he returned to the Oval Office for his second term. From swollen ankles — an apparent symptom of chronic venous insufficiency — to an advanced imaging test he knew little about, to the near-constant bruising on the backs of his hands, online sleuths have speculated almost nonstop about potential strokes and cognitive decline while his physicians insist he's in great shape.

In terms of cognitive decline, there is a family history: Trump's father, real estate developer Frederick "Fred" Trump, lived to be 93, but suffered from Alzheimer's disease in the final years of his life.

"He had one problem," Trump, 79, said of his father in the interview. “At a certain age, about 86, 87, he started getting, what do they call it?”

Terris wrote that Trump then pointed to his head and turned to press secretary Karoline Leavitt to prompt him.

“Alzheimer’s,” Leavitt said.

“Like an Alzheimer’s thing,” Trump agreed. “Well, I don’t have it... I don’t think about it at all. You know why? Because whatever it is, my attitude is whatever."

Does this reporter realize that this statement is more telling about the media than Trump. The reporter is discussing Trump's health as a way to try to get readers concerned that Trump is too old and sickly to be president. Most readers realize that People and the rest of the media are just liberal propaganda outfits that raise health questions about Trump as reflexively as they don't raise health questions about Biden.

It is called different things. Sometimes Alzheimers and sometimes senility. Not even the same diagnosis.

I wish that were true for me. I'm 75, but feel much angrier than I did 40 years ago - because of evil Democrats and the hostility they display.

Well, that answers the “boxers or briefs” question. 😅

Well there’s one risk factor he doesn’t have: alcohol.
Another! Smoking.
Five good kids is probably helpful too.
Not everyone goes senile. I know old people who have retained all their marbles, into their 80’s and 90’s.

I’m 89, in xlnt health, weigh 112 and never hungry. Vision sux, s0 I don’t drive anymore. (Old friend drove across the country to visit relatives until she died at 96.).

Do I feel like I did 40 years ago? No. And not better either. But good enough to want to live another decade or two. Good friends, a nice place to live, nearby stores I can walk to and a really bitchy kitty that I love dearly.

Daughter lives a mile away and has started telling me what to do. “You can’t walk up and down those 15 steps”. Actually, when weather sux so much I can’t take a walk, I walk up and down those steps several times a day just for exercise.

Gotta keep on keeping on. Life is fun. .

Neither my parents nor my grandparents had Alzheimers or senility. My grandfathers lived to 90 and 94. My parents to early 80s.

My dad had Super-Parkinson related memory issues, which was different. It was brought on by the disease.

Clapping happily for you. May you get every day of the two decades in good physical and mental health. Kitty needs a loving parent.

That’s an excellent attitude, Veto! I also like Clint Eastwood’s take. When he was asked how he managed to keep so active and relatively fit in his 90s, he said “I just don’t let the old guy in.” Or something like that. The proper attitude is crucial. That, and a little luck.

I’m 89 and have every single marble. Until a few months ago, I had one glass of Chardonnay at 5 every night. Since then, I was hospitalized for Vertigo, followed by by ten days in a nursing home where the physical therapists dragged me out of my room several times a day. They had me walking up and down several flights of stairs because they needed to be sure I could do that. Wasn’t long til I could. Actually, I miss those guys.

Some med I now take requires that I don’t have wine, so I switched to Kombucha.

My one kid is a royal PITA, wants me to stop walking upand down stairs because of vertigo. Thinks I should move to a place without stairs.

Trump’s kids probably don’t boss him around.

Trump has bruising because he takes aspirin and has less subcutaneous tissue….same as everyone his age.
His dad and brother drank which can lead to alcohol related dementia.
Trump doesn’t drink and McDonalds won’t lead to dementia.
The demoncrats fussing over Trump’s health and brain power is just a lot of bullshit.
