Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
THANK YOU
for your service!

Shavua Tov.
Wishing all our Jewish troops, veterans, families, allies, friends, and Canteeners
a peaceful and prosperous week.
Good evening, radu, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Hope your ice problem is staying away.

Prayers for our troops, veterans, families, allies, friends, and Canteeners
for a safe and peaceful week ahead.

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.

God Bless our military men and women who have given their all.
Thanks, unique.
Howdy, Kathy.
The ice has been here all afternoon but hasn’t been a problem ..... so far. Still have until tomorrow afternoon/early evening to get through. Right now, it’s just above freezing and sprinkling and that’s melted most of the ice that did form this afternoon. BIG plus! Any new ice that might form overnight will be basically starting over. Power outages here shouldn’t be a problem. WHEW!
Your day had a crazy start. Thick fog that disappeared at sunrise, came back thicker an hour later, then it cleared off again just afternoon. It was just gorgeous after that.
WHEW is right...glad for the above freezing temp and sprinkles.
The afternoon was beautiful after the sun came out.
Welcome Troops, Veterans, Families, and Allies!
God Bless You and Keep You Safe.

Keep the Lord’s Day in the Lord’s way.
A blessed Third Sunday after the Epiphany (Western)/Thirty-Third Sunday after Pentecost and Commemoration of St. Gregory the Theologian (Orthodox) to all!
Hi everybody!
Stay Warm and Safe This Weekend!
(((HUGS)))
Awaiting the onset of will likely be the deepest snow in eight years, possibly ending with sleet and freezing rain but definitely followed by a solid week of arctic cold-—lows in the singles and highs barely cresting 20.
He Survived the Night That Changed Special Forces Forever: MACV-SOG - Black Rifle Coffee Company
During the Vietnam War, a small group of American soldiers fought a hidden war that most of the world never knew existed. These men were part of MACV-SOG, an elite Special Forces unit that carried out secret missions deep behind enemy lines, often across borders they were never supposed to cross.
In this exclusive interview, Patrick Watkins, a Green Beret who served with MACV-SOG, shares his firsthand account of life in that shadow war. He recounts the night his base was struck by a massive sapper attack, a brutal assault by North Vietnamese commandos who came wearing white headbands marked in their own blood, determined not to return alive.
That attack on Forward Operating Base Four became the deadliest day in U.S. Army Special Forces history. Seventeen Green Berets were killed, and countless others were wounded. Watkins describes the courage, the loss, and the unbreakable brotherhood that defined those who served in the most secretive unit of the Vietnam War.
For his actions, SSG Pat Watkins was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross. We’re grateful that he took the time to sit down and share his story.

“My husband is Lynne Black.. he volunteered for 3 tours.. aka Blackjack. There’s integrity on steroids in him
..but oh how he loves the sound of those helicopters.. October 5th 1968 they saved him.”
“My dad went through Macv recondo school in Vietnam as a 75th ranger in 69’. He don’t talk much about it but years ago I found a box of his medals in the basement and letters of how he got each one. It’s about time these guys get their proper welcome home. A lot of these guys were drafted like my dad and didn’t have a choice. And came home never quite the same my grandpa who was in ww2 (battle of Corregidor) once told me that your dad went through hell in Vietnam. My grandpa told me a few things my dad went through in Vietnam and it was a shocking some of the things those guys had to do not to mention all the agent orange that got dumped on them in the jungle. I have a ton of respect for all those Vietnam vets. Thank you for your service🇺🇸”

It was gorgeous up there. Crisp blue sky and the view of the mountains was sharp and clear. Haven’t seen much of them lately. The hoarfrost is so thick on the trees now, it makes the whole scene stunning.
I’m so relieved to have the warmer temps tonight. I worried the power could go out at any time.
Good evening, lightman, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
And a “blessed Third Sunday after the Epiphany (Western)/Thirty-Third Sunday after Pentecost and Commemoration of St. Gregory the Theologian (Orthodox)”.
