Two people have been charged in connection with a shooting that occurred at Ballenger Fieldhouse on the campus of Mott Community College in Flint.
The incident took place Saturday, Jan. 10. Malik Zamir Henderson, 23, of Flint, faces three felony charges: gang membership, which carries up to 20 years in prison; assault with intent to rob while unarmed, a 15-year felony; and assault with intent to do great bodily harm, less than murder or by strangulation, a 10-year felony.
Christopher Gill, 23, also from Flint, is charged with carrying a concealed handgun in a sports arena. This is a civil infraction that could result in a six-month suspension of his concealed pistol license and forfeiture of his gun if found responsible.
An investigation by Flint police and Mott Public Safety, along with surveillance video, revealed that basketball games were underway inside Ballenger Fieldhouse.
During a break, players and others were loitering, and some were entering and exiting restroom areas.
Video footage showed Gill exiting the gym and entering the restroom, followed by Henderson leaving the gym, appearing to look for Gill.

Lucky for him he did.
Gun free zones foster crime.
Don’t leave home without it. When you need it, there’s absolutely no substitute.
More Amish activity it looks like.

Ah, the LaFonTaNells and Sh’Qu’Nario’s are up to their usual hijinks.
It must be so weird to be a social cliche at this point.
diversity strikes again. We’re so lucky that the people in charge in the 1960s decided that diversity was the most important goal in the world and decided to destroy the perfect society of the 50s so that we could ‘enjoy’ diversity instead.

They came very close to succeeding, and they have done enormous damage along the way.
“Progressivism” is just Marxism delivered slowly, over time.
The bad guy will be on the street by monday and the victim will get a year in the county lock up.
Urban renewal in the good old USA.

Isn’t such a law now constitutionally invalid as per SCOTUS ruling?
Isn’t such a law now constitutionally invalid as per SCOTUS ruling?
There are lots of “progressive” judges who would disagree.
There is tremendous resistance to restoring rights protected by the Second Amendment in blue cities and blue states. Even a fair number of “red” legislatures.
Everybody is missing the big question here... did he wash his hands?
Halftime at a basketball game, guy A who happens to be black goes to the restroom and gets assaulted by guy B, a gangkster, who also happens to be black, with a motive of robbery, so A shoots B with his handgun that he fortunately was carrying, but A was also breaking local law by carrying at a sporting event. So A gets arrested and lumped into the same headline as B after a "shooting".
Guy B presumably got caught because he had a gunshot wound. Guy A was "caught" also, either at the scene or by video.
Did I get it right?
If I did get it right and Guy A was just minding his own business when he was assaulted and responded in a way that any reasonable person would respond when he was assaulted, why is Guy A, who happens to be black, being tarred with the same race brush that Guy B frankly deserves? /mostly rhetorical question for all
I always think of the fictional characters Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch of Appaloosa New Mexico.
At the serious urging of what amounts to the Appaloosa town council, Virgil Cole was appointed Town Marshall. His first act was to post his “Rules”.
One of those rules was that everybody submitted their guns to him. No guns allowed in this small New Mexico town.
The fictional bed rock of America is that a Town Marshal out west can eliminate the Second Amendement by his own simple decree
Gang membership is up to a 20 year sentence? Lol… in Chicago? I wonder if anyone actually gets locked up for that there.
The series is written by Robert B. Parker.
“Robert B. Parker’s résumé is familiar to most of his readers. Born and raised in Massachusetts, graduated from Colby College in Maine, married Joan Hall, had two sons, earned his Ph.D. at Boston University, taught at Northeastern University, and wrote nearly seventy books.”
The series is promoted by the New York Times.
A born and bread North Easterner promotes Gun Control in his books and series. Not surprising he is one of numerous talents that was chosen to be promoted and gain success.
If your storyline does not promote gun control, and you will not change it to meet the editorial requirements, your stories do not get published.
Robert A. Heinlein told of this in the book, Grumbles from the Grave, published after he died.
Hmmm..... Grumbles from the Grave
I’ll check it out
Basketball is such a “peaceful” sport that all of its fans are armed.
