At least among Republicans and conservatives, the general consensus is that the Democrat Party is one hot mess. The events in Minnesota and Democrats' reaction to it really tell it all. They learned nothing from the 2024 election and still think that their messaging — not bad candidates or what the message actually is — is the problem. It seems that they have concluded that if they just drift further left, that will get them wins in 2026 and 2028. And in some cases, they are weeding out those who cannot or will not pass their purity test.
BREAKING: Senator John Fetterman becomes the first Democrat to call out members of his party for adopting socialist policies.
He says that they need a “reality check.”

The latest victim of the Democrat litmus test is Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA). The Working Families Party (WFP), which supported him in 2022, is now doing its best to find a candidate to run against him in a Democrat Pennsylvania Senate primary. They have even launched a new website, "PrimaryFetterman.com," to do just that. The website is being financed by the Working Families Party PAC, and they have pulled out all the stops, with volunteer recruitment links, options to request campaign donation refunds, and plenty of opposition research on Fetterman.

Far-left Democrats were all in on Fetterman when he first ran in 2022. He supported typical leftist issues, like abortion rights, LGBTQ rights, universal healthcare, and legalization of marijuana. But maybe the tattoos and hoodies should have been a giveaway to the WFP that Fetterman may not be the kind of guy who marches in lock step with his party, and now WFP is having buyer's remorse and wants Fetterman gone. A statement on the website reads:
We supported John Fetterman in 2022. Since then, he’s sold us out. It’s time to replace him. Fetterman was the deciding vote for a Republican budget bill that will increase healthcare costs for 500,000 Pennsylvanians. He has supported more of Trump’s nominees than any Democratic Senator. He consistently skips votes and Senate work. We deserve better.
As my colleague, Teri Christoph, reported back in October, Democrats were already getting tired of Fetterman's free-thinking ways and looking to be rid of him. His pro-Israel position may have been a catalyst. But in November, a former Fetterman staffer, now employed with the WFP, ramped up their efforts to unseat Fetterman. Some of the names that have been tossed out as potential Democratic primary opponents are Reps. Chris Deluzio (PA-17), Brendan Boyle (PA-02), and former Rep. Conor Lamb.
We're primarying John Fetterman.
Last week, Fetterman once again sold out working Pennsylvanians. He was the deciding vote for a Republican budget bill that will strip healthcare from over 400,000 Pennsylvanians.
We deserve real working class leadership in the U.S. Senate.

Some of Fetterman's crimes against the Democrat Party could include his being the first sitting Democrat to visit Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago, his steady support for Israel, and being one of a handful of Democrats who voted to end the most recent government shutdown. He has also said he would support the U.S. purchasing Greenland.

But WFP's threats of a primary don't seem to faze John Fetterman. He appeared on the Fox News Channel's "The Story" in November and taunted WFP, saying:
“Ooh, ooh, oh, I hope, promise. I hope so. Because I guarantee whoever they put up, they’re going to make me look the reasonable guy that’s going to work with both sides together and find a way for Pennsylvania.”
Much to some Republicans' disappointment, John Fetterman is never going to be a Republican. In fact, you could see his days as a Democrat being short-lived. Agree or disagree with him, but John Fetterman seems to be a guy who votes his conscience, not party first. The conscience part may be what angers Democrats the most.
They’re going to primary Fetterman because he’s not extreme enough— Jon 🔬 (@JonnyMicro) January 15, 2026

Go and watch some of the ambush interviews on capital hill where some woke journos try to cancel him over transing kids and other nonsensical stuff. He answers them like a sensible grown up talking to liberal children.
Stupid idiots , literally.
. “Who BRUNG” him to the dance?
Looks like horrible grammar is a requirement to be a Dem today. Maybe it was always so. But I don’t have to listen to them or pay attention and neither do you.
It just will not be tolerated in any way, shape or form!
So 90% of the time with your party isn’t extreme enough.
"But the richest people on Earth — and the political insiders who serve them — have rigged the rules of our economy and our democracy to grab up wealth and power for themselves. They have defunded our schools, undermined community services, and stripped working people of the right to organize into unions. And then they blame poor people or people of different races or different places — aiming to divide us and distract us from what we have in common. The Working Families Party is regular people coming together across our differences to make a better future for us all. We’re a multiracial party that fights for workers over bosses and people over the powerful. We want an America which realizes the promise – unrealized in our history – of freedom and equality for all."
Fetterman has voted with the democrats 85% of the time. Apparently, that's not enough to satisfy the WFP crowd.
Comments like this shows who thinks they own the politicians.
And to hell with the people.
Based on Fetterman’s rational thought shift since recovering from his stroke it would appear the actual cure for liberalism would be medically induced strokes.
Need to find a conservative federal judge willing to issue a nation wide injunction ruling on all leftist.
Democrat Party is one hot mess
Indeed if money or control isn’t tied to it it ain’t happening.
Communism corrupts young minds.
Fetterman is clearly a liberal, but he is sane. I don’t agree with him about much, but he is capable of having a rational discussion.
There used to be many sane liberals in Congress. Now Fetterman is one of the only ones left.
Go look at the WFP website. There are almost no white men in the pics.
Of course the poster is a lie. Fetterman has never cast an against his party when it mattered. The left has no shame
They are trying to throw him over the cliff maybe he should switch parties
If Fetterman was prolife, I’d vote for him
Good, division in the nutty Party could net us a seat. Fetterman is popular here.
PA is he ultimate swing States, we don’t like too far left here. Shapiro tries too walk an operate, because t I doubt he will get the Nomination minion, since the insane control the Party.
