The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent who fatally shot Renee Good last week in Minneapolis, Jonathan Ross, suffered internal bleeding to the torso following the incident, according to two U.S. officials briefed on his medical condition.
It was unclear how extensive the bleeding was. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed Ross' injury, but has not yet responded to CBS News' requests for more information. This story will be updated as we learn more.
Videos from the scene showed Ross walking away after the incident.
Kristi Noem, the Homeland Security secretary, previously acknowledged that Ross was taken to the hospital after the shooting and was released the same day. She said he was recovering from his injuries, describing him as an experienced law enforcement officer who believed he was defending himself and fellow agents.
"The officer was hit by the vehicle. She hit him. He went to the hospital. A doctor did treat him. He has been released," Noem told reporters on Jan. 7.

Well, it was a big refrigerator.
To be fair, any contusion (bruise) is internal bleeding. But also to be fair, he was assaulted and hit by the driver/vehicle. The mayor needs a copy of the doctors note....
People had sued for personal injury for far less. He should sue the estate for injuries.
Not being snarky or belittling what happened to the officer, but is a bruise a form of internal bleeding?
Anyone who has been hit by a car knows it feels like a refridgerator fell on you.
We already know how they’ll play this out. All of a sudden, days after, there’s a report of internal bleeding. We all know they’ll say that report is all BS to cover his shooting of the innocent little school marm. Right? Did I misspell trained agitator?
Yes but, given the liberals were screaming how he was not even hit in the beginning, providing this information in this manner is needed.
Agreed.
The extent was unclear.
Yes. Had a chest wall hematoma/contusion once. Sidelined me for nearly a month.
So much for the narrative that a) Good’s vehicle didn’t touch the agent; b) if it touched him, it was only a graze; c) if it was more than a graze, it wasn’t enough to do any harm.
Calling a bruise "internal bleeding" is an effort to misdirect.
It's spin.
If he got hit hard, it is expected for him to have a bruise, but "internal bleeding" implies damage to internal organs.
And I think using the term "assaulted" is also misdirection.
Pedestrians get hit by cars by accident, and we don't call it an "assault."
"Assault" implies she intended to attack him, and I don't think the evidence supports that assertion.
“Videos from the scene showed Ross walking away after the incident.”
Video showed him limping down the street toward where the SUV ended up. Of course, CBS isn’t going to say limping when they can say walking.
She drove into a cop standing right on front of her car telling her to get out of the vehicle. In no way, shape, or form was this anything but a vehicular assault on ICE.
Assault is a legal term that includes intent to harm and has come to mean battery as well in the common use of the word, though battery is really the physical contact part of the offense. Different states may use variations of the definitions in their statutes.
You want to say that she committed battery without intent. Yet she failed to follow directions, then accelerated in the direction of law enforcement, subsequently committing battery. What she intended is no longer relevant. She was already guilty of another crime and the battery occurred as a result of the failure to obey.
Your post seems a bit of spin and misdirection. And yes, a bruise (contusion) is a form of internal bleeding, specifically when small blood vessels under the skin break and leak blood into the surrounding tissues, causing discoloration.
Domestic terrorism supporters on FR? ;<)
Apparently. Zotbot needs to clean up around here, getting a bit cluttered.
The leftist narrative is quickly falling apart.
