WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — President Donald Trump on Sunday fired off another warning to the government of Cuba as the close ally of Venezuela braces for potential widespread unrest after Nicolás Maduro was deposed as Venezuela’s leader.
Cuba, a major beneficiary of Venezuelan oil, has now been cut off from those shipments as U.S. forces continue to seize tankers in an effort to control the production, refining and global distribution of the country’s oil products.
Trump said on social media that Cuba long lived off Venezuelan oil and money and had offered security in return, “BUT NOT ANYMORE!”
“THERE WILL BE NO MORE OIL OR MONEY GOING TO CUBA - ZERO!” Trump said in the post as he spent the weekend at his home in southern Florida. “I strongly suggest they make a deal, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.” He did not explain what kind of deal.
Hours later, Cuba’s president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, responded on X by saying “those who turn everything into a business, even human lives, have no moral authority to point the finger at Cuba in any way, absolutely in any way.”
The Cuban government said 32 of its military personnel were killed during the American operation last weekend that captured Maduro. The personnel from Cuba’s two main security agencies were in Caracas, the Venezuelan capital, as part of an agreement between Cuba and Venezuela.
“Venezuela doesn’t need protection anymore from the thugs and extortionists who held them hostage for so many years,” Trump said Sunday. “Venezuela now has the United States of America, the most powerful military in the World (by far!), to protect them, and protect them we will.”
Trump also responded to another account’s social media post predicting that his secretary of state, Marco Rubio, will be president of Cuba...

Watching the demoncraps defend dictators now is pure comedy gold.
predicting that his secretary of state, Marco Rubio, will be president of Cuba.”
The clueless leftist children at AP have no idea how to nuance what Trump says. Trump did not say this as part of any plan to make Rubio the President of Cuba. Idiots.
Was Maduro a hostage?
No kings. I hear the commies held a whole protest about it.
Or, ......what? We’re gonna take over Cuba?
No kings. Unless, of course you head a communist regime...
Perhaps someone can tell me what kind of deal or what deal at all Cuba is supposed to make?
There are some who think Maduro was a hostage to his Cuban security force and that now that he is free, he is singing like a canary to the US govt about election fraud and other topics. Who knows?
Translation: Miriam Adelson has her eye n some nice beachfront property in Havana
This man is the most entertaining president in history, and I’m here for it. He creates leverage just by speaking.
This took 7 seconds:
Trump:
“Cuba lived, for many years, on large amounts of OIL and MONEY from Venezuela. In return, Cuba provided ‘Security Services’ for the last two Venezuelan dictators, BUT NOT ANYMORE!” Trump posted on Truth Social on Sunday.
“THERE WILL BE NO MORE OIL OR MONEY GOING TO CUBA - ZERO! I strongly suggest they make a deal, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.”
Don’t have to, with cubas sugar daddy’s cut off at the knees it has nothing left to support it, just like Iran
make a deal. Monty Hall?
Right. So let it die, or fix itself, or whatever. What is the deal to be made?
Okay, I’ll try again...
What deal should Cubs make?
What’s on the table?
Not trying to be snarky here. All I’ve heard is you’re not getting any more oil.
I am in the camp that says Maduro was being held hostage by Cooba and was slated to die for his country as a Communist hero like Che Guevara and Salvador Allende. Cooba was not about to let him move to Turkey with the couple hundred million dollars that Trump offered him. Those 32 Cooban soldiers who died in the attack weren’t there to guard him, they were there to make sure he didn’t go anywhere. Grabbing him and his wife was not a kidnapping. It was a rescue operation. And in return he will soon turn state’s witness and sing like a canary.
Does that help?
A blockade would be easy enough.
<>What is the deal to be made?<>
Perhaps something along the lines of reform or starve.
But this is outside your capability to consider.
