Six people were killed in a series of related shooting in eastern Mississippi, according to authorities.
Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott on Friday said a suspect, later identified as 24-year-old Daricka Moore, was taken into custody.
Online records show Moore was charged with first-degree murder.
WTVA reported that a 7-year-old girl was among the victims.
"Unfortunately tonight we have dealt with tragedy in our community. Multiple innocent lives lost due to violence. We do have the individual in custody and no longer poses a threat to our community," Scott wrote in a post he shared on Facebook.
"I ask that you lift our victims and their families in your prayers," he added.
"Law Enforcement is busy investigating and will release an update as soon as possible."
The shootings happened in the town of West Point, near the Alabama border.
Scott told WTVA that six people were killed in three locations.
The sheriff's office did not provide further details early Saturday, but planned a news conference.
BOW killings?
“Tragedy” is when an earthquake or tornado happens.
Brutal vicious murder is when brutal vicious murder happens.
Tragedy is when I cut my finger
Comedy is when you fall into an open sewer and die.

I was wondering why this story wasn’t mentioned in the commie press now we know
The right and left halves of his head don’t match well. There’s something wrong with that guy.
The first four were his relatives, but it’s unclear why he chose to go to a church and kill the pastor and the pastor’s brother.
Perfect bilateral symmetry is not always present in humans.
It is not a predictor of bad behaviour. Now, if he looked like a picasso painting... that’s another thing...
My guess would be BoB.
Give the guy a bus ticket to Chicago, and he’d fit right in.
A little difference is normal, but this guy looks like the local midwife had a really, really strong right arm when this guy popped out.
Wait...dude is 24?
