"I got more water coming outta my eyes than DWP had in both of our reservoirs" -@spencerpratt
Television personality Spencer Pratt, who lost his home in the Palisades Fire and has been a vocal critic in the months since of the city's and state's preparation for and response to the conflagration, announced Wednesday that he is running for mayor of Los Angeles.
Speaking at a "They Let Us Burn" rally held by the Palisades Fire Residents Coalition to mark the one-year anniversary of the fire's start, the 42-year-old Pratt again repeated his complaints about authorities' handling of the blaze, then earned cheers from the crowd when he announced plans to seek the mayor's office.
Pratt rose to fame in 2007 when he began dating "The Hills" cast member Heidi Montag, and eventually became a regular on the series. The couple married the following year, and they have two children.
He and Montag also appeared on shows including "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here" and the British version of "Celebrity Big Brother."

Waste of time and money.
Good luck, Mr. Pratt, for your heroic run.
Karen Bass will be re-elected, most likely in a landslide.
Stupid voters with short memories + lefties + vote fraud + illegals voting = A second term for Karen Bass.
Christine Kraft was fired for being too old, too unattractive and not differential to men. She thought being a victim would get her a seat in congress. Won’t work here.
It’s a smart move to keep his name in the irritainment industry spotlight. He’d be worse off if he won anyway.
Sadly.
If Spencer now wants to run for office, due to his lack of political experience, he’s smart to consider the Mayoral race, vs something like Governor. But he is not smart to begin in one of the biggest and most visible cities in the world. It’s all but certain, Mayor Bass has the connections to keep her office, bar a formidable challenge.
Spencer should have chosen a much smaller city, one that few people are paying any attention to. Not San Diego either. Santa Barbara or even Beverly Hills would be more his style.
I used to sit through his show when my kids were little. It was inane.
What is funny, is the ONLY person on that show I could name today is Spencer. I always thought he was the most “real” person on it. He always struck me as the kind of guy who would be pumping a multi-level marketing scheme.
But he was funny.
I hope he wins. He would probably be bad at the job….but it would be fun to watch.
It’s not just the city they have to fight. The county and state both have insane permit requirements. Enjoy. I just heard that houses over a certain amount, as in all the houses in Palasades, require a full time on site inspector to liaison between county inspectors. And just wait until the Coastal Commission goons get involved. Embrace the warmth of collectivism.
Don’t forget all the people who get free stuff from taxpayers. They always vote for the Dem.
Sounds like gov’t HOAs from Hell....with the power to command and pocket judges.
The City will get what they want: Prime neighborhoods burned to the ground and targeted for City-run housing tracts.
Just like in Hawaii.
