Larry Page, the Google co-founder and world’s second-richest person, has reportedly left California amid concerns about a wealth tax on billionaires.
Mr Page has moved the registrations of several entities, including his family office and flying car business from California to Delaware, according to filings with the states.
He has also personally moved out of the state ahead of a potential vote on a 5pc wealth tax, according to Business Insider, which first reported the move.

Moving out of California was smart but moving to Delaware was not. He needed to talk more with Musk.

He re-registered some business entities in Delaware. It doesn’t say that he moved there. It will be interesting to see which state Larry now calls home, but I’d put my money on one with no state income tax but also sufficient luxury housing and amenities (e.g., FL, TX or NV)
He created the environment he is fleeing.
Larry Page engineered the current and future replacement of almost all tech workers in the USA by bringing uncounted thousands of young guys here from India. Basically almost his whole company is or will be run by Indian citizens. I would suggest he should move to Mumbai.
By the way, Mr. Page is not a tech company owner. He runs a worldwide advertising duopoly with facebook.

Cheap foreign tech workers are a bonanza for American companies. It helps American companies stay competitive and stay in US instead of off shoring the work. A company operating on US soil pays federal income tax, property tax, state income tax, builds infrastructure inside US, employs bunch of support staff (janitors, building maintenance workers, clerical workers, and is a good customer of local utilities. All those side benefits evaporate if the tech work is operated from India on World wide web. Already lots of medical work is being offshore to India because of cheap doctors. The only people hurt but cheaper foreign workers are American tech workers who can’t demand high wages.

Good deal. Then our country would be extra great if we replaced all our doctors, lawyers, veterinarians and dentists with Indians. That way almost all Americans could be unemployed right? They obviously made India the worlds greatest country, right?
The billionaires created California’s tax situation, thinking they could dump it all on the middle class and lower upper class.

At a 5% wealth tax it’s like he’s cheating the State of California out of $12 billion. Does he think he’s a whole horde of Somalis to get away with that?
