It hurts Venezuela the narco-state. It hurts China. It hurts Cuba. It helps the entire Western Hemisphere.
Many - perhaps most - of them, came from Venezuela prisons and mental hospitals.
Castro Cuba pulled the stunt on Jimmy Carter in 1980.
Maduro is not a legitimate head of state. He is not recognized as such by the United States or by many other states.
My recollection of the tragedy that has become Venezuela is the stolen election resulting in Hugo Chavez becoming dictator. The evidence of the stolen election was pretty well known and there was considerable controversy until Saint Jimmy Carter’s voter integrity group blessed it as legitimate. Chavez first action was to bring in “advisers” from Cuba to secure his position and eliminate his opposition. Since that time, the country has been looted, freedom destroyed, and the corruption of those in charge has know no limits. The US finally has a leader that sees what needs to be done, and then does it. For official Washington this is unheard of since their objective for every initiative seems to be “how can we make money off this?”.

Remember, the Nobel Peace Prize was just awarded to Maria Corina Machado “for her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy”, according to the Nobel Peace Prize announcement.
President Trump can simply say that he was making the Nobel Committee’s wishes come true.
