Bennett: Qatargate is ‘most serious act of treason’ in Israeli history, PM must resign

Former prime minister Naftali Bennett called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resign on Monday, accusing him of engaging in the cover-up of the Qatargate affair, which Bennett called “the most serious act of treason in Israeli history.”

The statement from Bennett, who is running against Netanyahu in next year’s election, follows new revelations about the scandal. The affair involves allegations that top aides to the prime minister were acting as paid lobbyists for Qatar, where Hamas’s leadership is based, while simultaneously working for Netanyahu.

On Sunday, i24 News reported that communication between the suspects showed they had fabricated information, and worked with a reporter for a pro-Netanyahu outlet to change the text of one of his pieces to accord with their messages.

“Netanyahu’s office betrayed the State of Israel and IDF soldiers during wartime and acted on behalf of Qatar for financial gain, and Netanyahu himself is covering it up,” Bennett declared in a statement following the report. “Whether Netanyahu knew or did not know that his office was working for the enemy in a time of war, both possibilities require his immediate resignation.”

Naftali Bennett is pathetic. He has been promised PM by the CIA and his plan has been thwarted so many times. So he is in the same frame of mind has Hillary Clinton - promised but not delivered. I wish that Netanyahu can expose the leftist connection with the CIA and Obama Color Revolution and turn the tables on them. Let the accusers be accused.

The Knesset is literally filled with Bolsheviks (self loathing Jews that migrated from the Soviet Union). And to make matters worse, many of them have duel American citizenship.

I don’t know why so many Jews are leftwing lunatics. It seems to be in their DNA.

The worst enemy of Jews is the religion of awfulness, misogyny, lying, rape, and depression.
The second worst enemy of Jews are leftist Jews.

Bennett is an idiot playing for political points here. And I have been a huge Netanyahu fan for years. But its time for Netanyahu to exit the political stage. He needs to cut a deal to leave in trade for no prosecution.

Whether Netanyahu knew or did not know that his office was working for the enemy in a time of war, both possibilities require his immediate resignation.”

So says one lusting for his office, yet I am sure if he did not know his office was working for an enemy - as a supplier of HAMAS - in a time of war, then he would claim innocence.

Some context:

Qatar has been a key financial supporter of the Palestinian militant organization Hamas, transferring more than $1.8 billion to Hamas over the years. In consultation with the U.S. and Israeli governments, $30 million were transferred monthly to Hamas, according to a Qatari official interviewed by Der Spiegel in 2023 From 2018 to 2023, Israel's government enabled and approved Qatari support for Hamas for political reasons.[8]
In 2011, U.S. President Barack Obama personally requested that Qatar, one of the U.S.'s most important Arab allies, provide a base for the Hamas leadership. At the time, the U.S. were seeking to establish communications with Hamas and believed that a Hamas office in Qatar would be easier to access than a Hamas bureau in Iran, the group's main backer.[14][3] In 2012, Hamad became the first head of state to visit Gaza under Hamas rule. He pledged to raise $400 million for reconstruction.[15] Sources say that advocating for Hamas is politically beneficial to Turkey and Qatar because the Palestinian cause draws popular support amongst their citizens at home.[16]
Speaking in reference to Qatar's support for Hamas, during a 2015 visit to Palestine, Qatari official Mohammad al-Emadi, said Qatar is using the money not to help Hamas but rather the Palestinian people as a whole. He acknowledges however that giving to the Palestinian people means using Hamas as the local contact. Emadi said, "You have to support them. You don't like them, don't like them. But they control the country, you know."[17] Some argue that Hamas's relations with Qatar are putting Hamas in an awkward position because Qatar has become part of the regional Arab problem. In a controversial deal, Israel's government under Benjamin Netanyahu supported Qatar's payments to Hamas for many years, in the hope that it would turn Hamas into an effective counterweight to the Palestinian Authority and prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state.[8]
[2014] Israeli leaders harshly criticized Qatar's diplomatic and financial support of Hamas in the wake of Operation Protective Edge, accusing the Qataris of being major sponsors of terrorism.[9] Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman called for the banishment of Qatar-based Al Jazeera journalists from Israel.[10]
In December 2018, Israel permitted a €13 million payment from Qatar to Gazan workers as part of a six monthly payment to help with humanitarian crisis in the Gaza region.[53] There have been frequent talks between Israel and Qatar on matters relating to Gaza since 2014 via Qatar's envoy to Gaza Mohammed al-Emadi who has been in regular contact with Israel.[54][55]
On September 9, 2025, Israel carried out an airstrike in the Qatari capital Doha, targeting residential buildings housing senior Hamas negotiators who were working on a ceasefire agreement to end the Gaza war.[3] The attack killed 6 people, including Lance Corporal Bader Saad Mohammed Al Humaidi Al Dosari, a Qatari security official.[4] Israel had claimed that the airstrike was in response to the 2025 Ramot Junction shooting, which had occurred a day before the shooting where two Palestinian militants opened fire at the Ramot Junction in East Jerusalem, slaying 6 and injuring 21 persons.[30]
On 29 September 2025, Benjamin Netanyahu apologized to Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani in a phone call for the violation of Qatar's sovereignty during the recent attack on Doha and the killing of a Qatari security officer. The call took place during Netanyahu's meeting with Donald Trump. According to reports, a formal Israeli apology was one of Qatar's primary conditions for resuming negotiations with Hamas on an agreement to end the Gaza war and secure the release of Israeli prisoners.[35][36] - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel%E2%80%93Qatar_relations

An organization named “CVA,” within the context of the 2021 Israeli government formation, promised Naftali Bennett the prime minister’s job as part of a power-sharing deal with Yair Lapid, the leader of the centrist Yesh Atid party.

The agreement, which established the thirty-sixth government of Israel (often referred to as the Bennett-Lapid government), stipulated the following:

Naftali Bennett would serve as prime minister for the first two years of the term.

Yair Lapid would then take over as prime minister for the remainder of the term.

This coalition was an unprecedented, broad alliance of eight parties spanning the political spectrum, united primarily by their shared goal of ousting then-Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The agreement was formalized in June 2021, and Bennett was sworn in as Prime Minister on June 13, 2021. However, the government collapsed before Bennett could complete his full term.

Following failures to pass legislation in the Knesset (Israeli parliament), Bennett announced in June 2022 that he would call for a vote to dissolve the body. As a result of the government’s collapse, Lapid succeeded him as the caretaker prime minister on July 1, 2022, per the terms of their agreement.

Huh? I'd say it matters if he didn't know. Bennett is a blowhard.

He didn't used to be. He has been poisoned by his obsession with power. Like Ehud Barak, once the most decorated soldier, who became the worst of traitors.
