Police share details on arrest of Madison school board vice president (Wisconsin)

The vice president of the Madison school board was arrested Friday night on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, officials said.

The Madison Police Department confirmed to Channel3000.com that officers arrested Maia Pearson, 38, on Friday. Pearson serves as vice president of the Madison Metropolitan School District's Board of Education and was appointed by Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway to the City of Madison's Police Civilian Oversight Board.

Madison police provided further details on what led to her arrest on Monday.

Officers were called to a business on East Doty Street right before 11 p.m. after employees reported a vehicle had driven over cones into a loading zone and caused a disturbance. Pearson and the driver, Urban Triage CEO Brandi Grayson, allegedly refused to exit the vehicle and were removed by officers.

Police said an officer smelled an odor of intoxicants on Grayson's breath, and she refused to take field sobriety tests. Grayson was subsequently taken to the hospital on a warrant for a blood draw.

"An internal investigation and review will occur into this incident. MPD is aware of a review also being done by the Office of the Independent Police Monitor and is cooperating with that review," Madison police said.

The Police Civilian Oversight Board also confirmed that a review is underway regarding Pearson's recent police encounter, although the board said no findings or conclusion have been made as of Monday.

The Madison Metropolitan School District on Monday provided a statement about Pearson's arrest.

"We’re aware of a recent arrest involving a Board of Education member. To be clear, this incident is unrelated to district operations and does not involve MMSD. We recognize that an arrest does not determine guilt, and the legal process must occur. Individual matters like this are managed in accordance with MMSD policy and any applicable laws. Our focus remains on our students and providing them with a safe, welcoming, and high-quality learning environment."

Channel3000.com has reached out to Pearson for comment. Grayson declined to comment when contacted by Channel3000.com.

Earlier this year, Grayson turned herself in to police after allegedly breaking down the front door of the home of a man she was previously in a relationship with. She was charged with a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct with domestic abuse assessments.

A plea hearing in that case is scheduled for February.

It's a Two-Fer! These are the 'ladies' in charge of educating Madison's CHILDREN and running a local non-profit. Both drunks and one an abusive nutjob. Terrific! I'll bet you a box of donuts they pulled the 'DO YOU KNOW WHO IT AM?' at the time of arrest, LOL!

FWIW - the "CEO" guy she was with from "Urban Triage"

Its a standard, woke, NGO, I suspect grifting off the education industrial complex (ie America's massive government debt)

From its website: Welcome to Urban Triage Empowering Black communities through education, advocacy, and transformative support for lasting change.

They can go through the motions, but she’s untouchable.

Sort of the opposite of the video on the news a few months ago of a woman going INTO a police car.

Devin Hogan Flanigan, an Assistant Attorney General in Rhode Island, whose August 2025 arrest in Newport went viral after bodycam footage showed her repeatedly telling officers, “You’re gonna regret this” and “I’m an AG” while being detained leading to her placement on unpaid leave and a plea deal.
I love the screeching screaming of the woman’s pal.

These crimes will be a feather in her cap next time she runs for any state office or for the legislature. Leftist voters see it as a resume enhancement.

These are leaders of the education of impressionable children.

“I’ve got nothing, Ma,
To live up to.”

——It’s Alright, Ma, I’m Only Bleeding” by Bob Dylan

This was the song with the line the audiences loudly cheered about the current President, Lyndon B. Johnson. One cartoonist showed LBJ naked but holding a cowboy hat over his crotch.:

While preachers preach of evil fates
Teachers teach that knowledge waits
Can lead to hundred-dollar plates
Goodness hides behind its gates
But even the president of the United States
Sometimes must have to stand naked.

Typical self-important loser black women in positions of authority/power.

These likely grifting fools should be investigated and the likely criminal NGO investigated for fraud and grift.

What great role models for the children.

What pathetic creatures.

Well, they’re drunks. Won’t be hard to trick them into very uncomfortable situations....a lotta liquor and a dangerous tool might send them over the edge. These people are not completely immune.

Rough lady. It takes a year just for an initial plea? Courts must be busy!

You know, this can all go away if they just raise the property tax another 15% or so. It’s for the children.
