The United States seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela on Wednesday, President Donald Trump said, escalating US pressure on President Nicolas Maduro’s regime.
“As you probably know we’ve just seized a tanker on the coast of Venezuela,” Trump said. “Large tanker, very large, largest one ever seized, actually.”
Attorney General Pam Bondi said the tanker has been sanctioned by the US for multiple years “due to its involvement in an illicit oil shipping network supporting foreign terrorist organizations,” including Venezuela and Iran.

Why is Fox News reporting very little about this?

Bye Bye Maduro.

YES
“Why is Fox News reporting very little about this?”
What are you talking about?
Fox has been covering this all morning......and are right now. 🤷
The article has Sen. Chris Coons as being from Connecticut. He is not. He is the rancid senator from Delaware. Connecticut has its own rancid senators.
Venezuela and Iran won’t get the oil no wrong in use.
I wonder where that tanker was going?
I admit I only skimmed the article.
At least I didn’t just comment after reading the headline(FR tradition).
CITGO is the Venezuelan fuel distributor in the USA.
7-11 gets all their gasoline from them.
One of the Kennedy’s used to run a charity called Citizen’s Energy out of MA. They would provide heating oil to poor people. They used to get all the heating oil from Venezuela.
‘Bye Bye Maduro’
Now send Mad Maduro off to The Hague where he belongs.
Trump said, “we’ll probably keep the oil”
Okay, I read the article. It states the tanker was going to Cuba. Land of Ricky Ricardo.
It was a Guyana flagged vessel. It did not say who owned the vessel. Only that it had been previously to Hong Kong, the UAE and maybe Iran.
Say what???
They're all over it.
Like Kamala on a 40 oncer
Suspect that American intelligence operatives determined the tanker was carrying drugs for delivery to Cuba and transshipment to the US. Water tight drug stuffed cannisters in the oil retrieved when the oil is offloaded. Many smuggling routes in and out of Cuba to the US. If they do find drugs everything, the load, and the tanker itself will be seized. The captain and crew will be arrested.
To Iran.
“The tanker was flying a Guyana flag, despite not being registered in Guyana, the country’s Maritime Administration Department said”
“The Skipper, previously named the Adisa, was sanctioned by the US in 2022 for facilitating oil trades for Hezbollah and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force.”

I’m sure somewhere Pint Size Paul is “deeply concerned “.
He is the rancid senator from Delaware.
It’s interesting that no one seems to be reporting who owns the ship.
It was originally posted that it was a Russian ship, but I haven’t seen that in a couple of days.
This tanker’s capacity is 1 million barrels.
Venezuela is listed as exporting about 950,000 barrels per day.
There are clearly other tankers hauling oil from there. This one was easy pickings because of the Iranian history/connection.
The others . . . probably Chinese flagged and enroute China.
They will not be touched. If they are, the next Chinese tanker will be escorted.
Then the contest is who shoots first. It’s always a contest of who shoots first. The escort may have media boats nearby, too.
Blockades are hard to do nowadays for this reason. If you shoot first, it’s hard to explain your consequent casualties (even if you win the battle) to the parents. And make no mistake, there will be many. All to stop oil from going to China.
Nothing is going to go wrong. Its sanctioned oil. We’re enforcing the oil sanctions on Venezuela and Iran.
