Erin Go Judenrein

In idle moments on our shows, I occasionally warble the presidential campaign song from the 1931 Gershwin musical Of Thee I Sing:

Wintergreen for President!
Wintergreen for President!
He's the man the people choose
Loves the Irish and the Jews!

That's a more fractious coalition than you might think. Across the sea in Erin itself, the Irish do not love the Jews. But they used, publicly, to moderate their hostility into mere antipathy. Not anymore. In Dublin it is now proposed to rename Herzog Park in Rathgar - a neighbourhood I know rather well. Herzog Park honours Chaim Herzog, born in Belfast, raised in Dublin, educated at my dad's school. He was called to the bar in London and subsequently became President of Israel. His father - known as "the Sinn Féin rabbi" - was a friend of my great-uncle's, but the son, upon the outbreak of war, volunteered with the British Army, was among the first Allied troops to enter Germany, and helped capture Himmler.

Still, I doubt anyone on Dublin City Council cares one way or the other about Chaim Herzog. What matters is that his son, Isaac Herzog, is the current President of Israel. So, under the new proposal, the name would be changed from Herzog Park either to Free Palestine Park or Gaza Park. Amusingly, the Shinners say the park needs a new moniker because Chaim Herzog was involved with terrorism - and we can't have that, can we?

Well, the Irish did prove that terrorism works.

For some reason, a lot of Jews appear to be concerned as to what open anti-Semitism might mean for them.

I wonder why that is.

The Irgun proved terrorism works long before the Irish.

And likewise, the Brits proved you cannot vote your way into independence. And incidentally, the Zionists proved terrorism works too. They murdered, bombed and assassinated 754 British Army soldiers and police in Palestine between September 1945 and June 1948.

Wanna guess what the Brits thought the men shooting at them from behind trees at Concord and Lexington were?

I have Israel Fatigue.

I have Israel and Gaza fatigue, and wonder why we ever let ancient Mideast tribal wars land on our shores and became such a drag on western societies.

Exactly! I like the moslems and Hindus even less than the Israelis. But mostly I’m suck of having all these foreign Jesus hating ideologies soaking up the bandwidth of American politics.

They have been doing this for thousands of years and will continue for thousands more. Best to build a fence around it and deny entry or exit to it.

I don’t remember — was it the Jews who got corned beef from the Irish in NYC or the other way around?

Right, and who settled all of the European Jews in Palestine to divide and conquer to facilitate colonial rule?

I use to think of the Mideast as a forever war that America should avoid. Then 911 happened. On that day I learned how evil Islam was. Having a Commie President who was more sympathetic to Mozlems than Americans (even had an Islamic name: Barrack Hussein Obama) just made me more inclined to resist Islam.

I support Israel not so much because of who they are but because of a common enemy: Islam. Anybody taking the fight to that evil cult has my support. Ireland is nuts for importing the rapey stabby people.

These are results for jewish casualties under british mandate

AI Overview

Jewish casualties under the British Mandate varied significantly over time, with notable events like the 1929 riots resulting in 133 deaths, while the 1947-1948 civil war period alone saw Jewish casualties estimated at around a thousand by late March 1948. Causes of death included intercommunal violence such as riots and massacres, anti-Jewish attacks, and, in the later period, clashes related to the escalating civil war and actions by Jewish insurgent groups against British forces.

Major events and associated casualties

1921 Jaffa Riots: 95 people were killed, including many Jews, following a clash between rival left-wing Jewish protestors and subsequent attacks by Arabs on Jews.

1929 Palestine riots: 133 Jews were killed and 198 were injured, with the Hebron massacre accounting for a significant number of the Jewish deaths, according to the Shaw Report.

1930s violence: The 1930s saw continued violence, including the 1936-1939 Arab Revolt, which resulted in Jewish deaths from ambushes and other attacks.

1947-1948 Civil War:

Estimates suggest approximately 1,000 Jewish deaths by the end of March 1948.

In the period from August 1945 to August 1947, there were 63 Jewish insurgent deaths and 140 "Jewish Others," which included both civilians and insurgent-related casualties. Casualties during this time were caused by both Arab attacks and actions by Jewish militant groups, including attacks on British forces, such as the bombing of the King David Hotel by the Irgun in 1946, which killed 91 people (mostly British).

At least 528 Jewish immigrants and refugees who were interned by the British died in camps, with 128 dying in Mauritius and 400 in Cyprus. The deaths were caused by harsh conditions, disease, and malnutrition, such as typhoid and malaria epidemics in the Mauritius camps.

Mauritius: 128 Jewish refugees died in internment camps on the island of Mauritius between 1940 and 1945.

Cyprus: Approximately 400 Jews died in internment camps in Cyprus during the British mandate period.

Causes of death: The deaths were largely due to harsh living conditions, disease outbreaks like typhoid and malaria, poor sanitation, and inadequate food and clothing.

True... you are quite correct.

Almost every aspect of the lunacy in the Middle East is the direct result of British empire reindeer games. Iraq, check, Kuwait check, Syria and Palestine Check! Iran and Operation Ajax, check! Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc... and the crown jewel, the Saudis. Jack Philby, father of the Soviet spy Kim Philby was a Brit intelligence officer who successfully installed the Saud family into power in Arabia. He created Saudi Arabia... it used to just be “Arabia”. It would be like putting the Bush family into power permanently and calling America the “Bush states of America”.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_John_Philby

The damage the Brits did in that part of the world in their “great game” is fairly incalculable.

It was the Irish who, unable to afford anything else, bought corned beef from the Jewish delicatessens. It was close enough to the ham and cabbage from the old country.
