Ukraine faces losing dignity or US support with Trump’s plan to end war, Zelensky says

Ukraine is at “one of the most difficult moments” of its history, the country’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday, warning that a US plan for ending the war widely seen as favoring Russia would mean his country losing its dignity or a key ally.

The 28-point plan put forward by US President Donald Trump puts pressure on Kyiv to cede territory, limit the size of its military and promise not to join NATO in exchange for an end to the war, all long-standing Kremlin demands.

“The pressure on Ukraine is now at its most intense. Ukraine may now face a very difficult choice: either the loss of dignity, or the risk of losing a key partner, or 28 difficult points, or an extremely harsh winter,” Zelensky said in his daily video address.

Ukraine will “work calmly” and quickly with the US and its partners towards an end to the war, Zelensky said.

A number of European leaders have spoken out in support of Ukraine since the details of Trump’s proposal were released, vowing to stand by Kyiv and insisting that no decisions should be made about the fate of the country without its input.

In a joint call with Zelensky earlier on Friday, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer “agreed to continue to pursue the goal of safeguarding vital European and Ukrainian interests in the long term.”

This includes “ensuring that the line of contact is the starting point for an understanding and that the Ukrainian armed forces remain capable of effectively defending Ukraine’s sovereignty,” a German government press office statement.

Zelensky said he was relying on his “European friends,” for their support.

Trump appears to be giving Russia almost everything...

yeah a lot of European Nationals felt the same way about “their dignity” in 1914. Apparently enough other people have to die before this idiocy gets knocked out of the ruling class head in every nation.

Does anyone have a link to the ENTIRE 28 point plan? I grow suspicious about what the media is presenting.

Ukraine’s legislature can vote on the proposal, and then after it’s rejected, the propagandists can’t say it’s all about Zelinski.

As I stated on anther post, if they reject it they face losing a lot more than just face. BTW, they have already lost suport from Trump & the U.S. because of Zelenskyy himself.

Best of wishes to you all in Ukraine who support this move, and condolences to those who desire an end to the insanity to keep proceedig down this path to ultimately results in a total loss of Ukraine's sovereintyand once again becomes absorbed into Russia instead od of the Soviet Union, which may be in reality more beneficial for them.

One thing looks pretty clear.

Trump aligns with his friend Witkoff and not with Kellogg.

Witkoff actually achieves things.

“How did an idiot comedian become Ukraine’s “leader”?”

NATO needed a controlled asset to goad Russia into war. That was the only part of NATO’s plan that worked, the rest has been an unmitigated disaster. Nine million innocents run out of their country, over a million dead soldiers and an unknown number of wounded who will never be the same. A lost generation of young men. Ukraine’s population will not recover for a long time.

If I were Trump I would seriously just stop trying to end the war in Ukraine, its a lost cause regardless of what plan they come up with, just focus on OUR country, OUR economy and let Russia and Ukraine fight forever, who cares

Better to lose “dignity” than lose more lives, territory and any access to the Black Sea.

Now that’s dignity.

So are the videos of burly “ conscription squads” dragging Ukrainian men off the streets, out of cars, beating and shoving them into unmarked vans headed for 2 weeks of military training before being sent to die in trenches.

Also the vids of Ukrainian drones executing civilians wearing white armbands, trying to evacuate in the wrong direction..east toward the Russian lines.

More dignity….golden toilets, luxury villas, flashy sports cars in Monaco, France, Switzerland, and other boltholes created by Ukrainian elites with looted money.
