Punishable by death!' Trump notes 'execution' is traditional penalty for sedition

President Donald Trump on social media has pointed out that the penalty for the refusal of military troops to obey orders is serious.

Punishment up to and including execution.

The response from the president came after a list of Democrats made a video urging federal employees, including members of the military, to refuse to obey what they called, without a definition, "illegal" orders.

Presumably that would be orders from the president, as commander-in-chief of the military, with which the Democrats disagreed, most likely for political purposes.

Leftist California Gov. Gavin Newsom claimed it was a call by Trump to "hang Democratic lawmakers who spoke out against Trump." But their video clearly is more than speaking out "against Trump," it's a call for the military to stage an insurrection based on the Democrats' belief that Trump orders are "illegal."

Illegal orders can be refused. But such would be things like orders to rape or murder civilians.

Trump is derelict in his duties.

He interfered with justice to protect Hillary, just like Comey.

Gen Milley did far worse than this 5 years ago, and Trump did nothing!!

Still ZERO arrests.

Still ZERO military tribunals.

"Because you'd be in jail!"..."lock her up, lock her up, lock her up"...

Talk is cheap. Trump's talk is cheaper.

Only ARRESTS matter!!

On the bright side, this would mean a substantial reduction in the communist seditionists in the Senate and the House...

Execute them by drowning in the Potomac by the Kennedy Center...

So it is thought that “illegal orders” might just be those that Democrats don’t like. I hope they are looking into this thoroughly. In wartime, we sure don’t need a problem with any possible “illegal orders’ that might not be such. In my 4 years in the military, I don’t recall ever hearing anything about such orders, but I do believe there was a chapter in our handbooks dealing with that. Admittedly it was not wartime, which could well make a difference. If there is some disagreement & questionable orders are legal, then the person or persons doing this should be properly prosecuted.

An order to violate the Posse Comitatus laws would be an illegal order.

Guess some of us were fooled into thinking Trump would lock his old buddy up.

See how he went and gaslit us a while back on this topic?

Pisses me off to see him playing everyone occasionally.

Is it just me or are the many news reports wrong that the well produced ad telling people to refuse orders is NOT to merely resist Trump, but to resist ALL commanding officers?

So the soldiers could tell the General “Sir, our straw poll came out that 51% are going to refuse to obey your order to begin the battle at first light. Your order is moot now.”

The “orders” already opposed included National Guard troops sent to protect and aid the ICE agents and local police in cities. A Dem or two floated the idea of the National Guard refusing on the grounds that it was against Americans on American soil.

Not recalling the LBJ in Detroit in 1967, the Eisenhower on school integration and many others with guard troops sent.

If Trump doesnt do his duty, he will be rotting in prison (or dead) less than a year after his term is over. This is entirely his game to lose.

“An order to violate the Posse Comitatus laws would be an illegal order.”

Not in the case of rebellion.

Was it a violation when Eisenhower sent the 101st into Little Rock?
