California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) called Senate Democrats’ deal with Republicans to reopen the government “pathetic,” accusing them of betraying “working Americans” after failing to secure an extension of enhanced Obamacare premium subsidies.
Newsom, a potential candidate for the 2028 presidential election, took to social media Sunday night after eight Democrats voted with Republicans in a procedural vote to allow a continuing resolution (CR) funding the government to advance.
“Pathetic,” he wrote from his personal X account.
His press office also called the Democrats’ capitulation “pathetic”:
“This isn’t a deal,” his office added. “It’s a surrender. Don’t bend the knee!”
Newsom shared more of his thoughts on his official gubernatorial account
“Tonight’s Senate vote on the federal government shutdown should have been a time for strength. Instead we saw capitulation and a betrayal of working Americans,” Newsom wrote. “The American people need more from their leaders.”
Despite admitting that the Democrats had the power to continue to keep the government shut down, Newsom has spent the last 41 days blaming it on President Donald Trump and Republicans.

No respect for the US Citizens.
The Dems never had a shot. All Republicans had to do was nothing. Thank goodness that’s what they did.
He’s more about about this than the Palisades burning to the freakin GROUND..of course hes not upset about that, after all its HE who made sure the Palisades would burn
It was a dumb plan from the beginning
The hairpiece has spoken.
No way he wrote that himself. Sentence is too long.
Remember, this is the guy who stayed at a wine-tasting party in no. CA while LA was burning to the ground, actual modern Nero.
Quite the bridge builder.
There’s a wealth of material the RNC can use against this guy if he runs......but they won’t.
Liar, adulterer, narcissistic bastard— nothing he says should be taken seriously. His only goal is power at any cost.
They’re well versed in doing nothing. Glad they stayed the course when it counted.
Meanwhile, SCOTUS just extended its order blocking full SNAP payments.
ROLLINS, SEC. OF AGRIC., ET AL. V. RI COUNCIL OF CHURCHES, ET AL.
The application for stay presented to Justice Jackson is
referred to the Court. The administrative stay entered on
November 7, 2025, is hereby extended until 11:59 p.m. (EST) on November 13, 2025.
Justice Jackson would deny the request for extension of the
administrative stay and would deny the application.

LOL! The DIMs are truly worthless and caustic to civil society.
“Don’t bend the knee!”
Rich coming from the guy who put the knee in knee pads.
When he's not wearing a suit, he looks like an Elitist from California.
He looks better with a suit on.
Hopefully, he'll keep up with his “Bay Area tech-executive” look going into 2028.
Is he sure he’s not talking about himself?
I heard airports were waving off private planes due to the lack of controllers to handle the traffic. This must have pissed off many of the RATs big time money donors . They must have put pressure to end this or the big bucks will stop flowing to the RATs.
“Betrayal” Newscum? ... I remember when he was banging Ruby Rippey Gibney, while both were married to others, plus 19-year-old aspiring model Brittanie Mountz, when he was 38.
Newsom is setting himself up as the frontrunner on his way to the democrat nomination for President in 2028.
It’s early, but Gavin has the inside track for now.
