Pleading the Fifth means avoiding self-incrimination and while it’s routine under some circumstances it’s the correct thing to do, doing it when you’ve been asked…

The House Oversight Committee released its report on the ‘Autopen’ during which they talked to key White House figures.
The first respondent in the video is Anthony Bernal, Former Assistant to the President and Chief of Staff to Jill Biden, so when he’s asked about family members wielding presidential duties, you can see where this is going.

I have to say, I’ve seen a lot of congressional testimony but I haven’t seen a man sweat while looking to the side like this in a congressional hearing the way Jill Biden’s chief of staff is doing here

Why doesn’t a questioner go all out once one of these people plead the 5th as they have to do that to all questions.
Questions like:
Did Joe Biden, his administration, or his family take illegal drugs in the White House?
Did Joe Biden, members of his administration, or his family conduct Satanic rituals in the Oval Office?
Did Joe Biden allow Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries to have orgies on Air Force One?
Record those exchanges and turn them into GOP commercials.
Maybe the Fifth Amendment can prevent people from providing information that could be used to prosecute them, but, it doesn’t prevent people from providing information that could be used to prosecute others, nor does it prevent people from being fired or stripped of benefits if they do not answer questions, nor does it prevent the government from revoking, annuling, vacating, every single act officially taken, about which people refuse to testify about the circumstances of, e.g. pardons and executive orders, etc.
Those are the people who run the country for last 4 years!
Maybe the fact of the refusals to testify should amount to presumptive proof of wrongdoing.
The AG does not have control over congressional hearings-Speaker Johnson is in charge of any proceedings at the moment. Congress has to refer one or more of these people to her for prosecution to happen in the legal process-we are not there yet...
Can’t do that-taking the 5th is a failsafe-you cannot legally “presume wrongdoing”-you have to prove it by legal means...
That’s for a criminal conviction. But firing someone or reversing official actions don’t place people in criminal jeopardy.
The video I saw showed at least 3 in a row who pled the 5th. Another person with glasses was a White House spokesman, claimed he saw no decline in Biden. When asked how often he met with him, he said it was infrequently. In truth, the committee found out he’d only met with him twice in 4 years.
How can anyone plead the fifth on a question about someone elses actions? That would not be self-incrimination....................

I doubt seriously that whoever hired these people is not aware of exactly what they have been up to, because they are most certainly fellow democrats-they would not fire them over taking the 5th, and would probably help them file harassment charges...
