An illegal immigrant from El Salvador was sentenced to 30 years in prison for repeatedly raping an 11-year-old girl in Virginia Beach.
On Wednesday, the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office shared the mugshot of 35-year-old Ricardo Lionel Mejia, who was sentenced on Tuesday.
Mejia was booked into the Virginia Beach Correctional Center on October 9, 2024, after pleading guilty to three charges of raping a victim under the age of 13, indecent liberties with a child under 15, and statutory burglary.
The sheriff’s office stated that he will serve a 30-year sentence at the Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) facility on a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) retainer before being transferred to ICE for further proceedings.

The victim’s mother forced open her daughter’s locked bedroom door with a butter knife to find Mejia in her bed. He fled out a window, but was later identified and taken into custody.
According to the Republican Governors Association, Democrat gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spangberger said that one of her first actions in office would be to overturn Governor Glenn Youngkin’s immigration policies to make Virginia a “sanctuary state.” This would bar local law enforcement from assisting ICE in cases such as this one.

Other prisoners may have plans for Little Richard.
In prior centuries there were marriages among young adults in their early and mid teens. But back then they were more like I described: "young adults". Think 14 and 15 year old working in coal mines and on farms instead of playing video games and tee-hee-ing over cat videos. Until most younger aged folks go back to being more responsible like their predecessors, I'm 100% against lowering the age of consent.
It takes longer as the number of parents declines.
So the taxpayer is on the hook for 30 years of 3 hots and a cot plus medical?
Rope is much cheaper and it helps keep the prison population down to a manageable level.

The victim and family are of Hispanic descent and the mom was given a ‘donation’, a payment if you will, to have sex with the daughter. Mom wanted the cash and let this happen. there is no father involved... he’s long gone. Just my two cents....
Maybe Chrissie Van Hollen can get them to cut them loose early. I’m pretty sure his time with Kid Abrego is up. He’s going to need a new pool boy.
