Two year ago today, Hamas carried out a horrible war crime, killing more than 1,100 Israelis and kidnapping 250 more.

That excerpt was the only comment criticizing Hamas. Mamdani then goes on a two-paragraph rant attacking Israel. Of course, he throws in the terms "genocidal", "occupation", and "apartheid".

You should be ashamed of yourself.
We all know your opinion on Israel and that’s ok to hold this opinion (right or wrong).
But on this painful day to the people who were affected by the terrible acts of Hamas (which started this terrible war), you chose to write a post about it that is 25% about this day and its pain, and 75% about your agenda tainted with hate against Israel and its government.
And again, that’s fine. But you could’ve waited a day.
This statement is disgraceful - it disgraces the Israelis who were affected, the Palestinians and their pain, and most definitely disgracing the city of New York.

The Al Jazeera exaggeration includes about 25,000 Hamas combatants who were killed during the fighting. These are not civilians and should not be included in the exaggerated figures.
