A pro-Palestinian activist has been sentenced to more than 19 years in prison after pleading guilty to 'firebombing' a police car on a college campus.
Casey Robert Goonan, 35, committed a series of attacks at UC Berkley as part of an anti-Israel protest in June 2024.
Goonan, who uses they/them pronouns and is bipolar, lit a bag of six explosives under a University of California Police Department patrol car, causing the car to be engulfed in flames.

He’s 35, committed an atrocious crime, spent a year in jail and has now admitted he needs treatment? Away from the insanity he immersed himself with and with 18 more years to go, well now it seems too little too late. Give him his meds while in prison serving out his time.
