The House of Representatives voted along bipartisan lines on Wednesday to table a resolution to censure Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., over comments about Charlie Kirk.

Four House Republicans voted with Democrats to table the legislation, effectively blocking it from receiving its own House-wide vote. A vote to table is a procedural mechanism allowing House members to vote against consideration of a bill without having to vote on the bill itself.

The measure was blocked in a narrow 214 to 213 vote. The four Republicans who voted to table the measure are Reps. Mike Flood, R-Neb., Tom McClintock, R-Calif., Jeff Hurd, R-Colo., and Cory Mills, R-Fla.

McClintock told Fox News Digital that while he condemned Omar's response to Kirk's death, he voted against moving forward with the censure based on First Amendment grounds. …

All right, but what about the charge that she’s married to her brother? I don’t want to hear she has immunity from that.

I really liked Tom McClintock back in the 1990a, but he's turning into the kid who always reminds the teacher that she forgot to give homework.

Whatever happened to McClintock? He used to be a reliable conservative. Now days he's disappeared from all the talk shows and votes with the dems whenever they need to pull a vote to their side.

Is he being blackmailed or something? It's been a real head scratcher for me.

He’s like a rand Paul ... He takes a stand on an ant hill. I read something here or somewhere... A supreme Court Justice said about doing the right thing vs what the Constitution says...
He said the Constitution isn’t a suicide pact... Tom needs an awakening.

Jeff Hurd rules one third of Colorado. His biggest cities are Pueblo and Grand Junction.

Who says there are no RINOs, er, rhinos, in Colorado?

I must assume he’s compromised. Hates Trump, etc. He’ll get the votes from the West Slope. He has to play communist to get Pueblo. Gerrymandering anyone?

McClintock struck me as a purist, a literalist. He wasn't the kind to put the party first. The Democrats were happy with that as long as he stayed in California. Unfortunately, he continued to be a dogmatist when he joined the Congress, not willing to compromise for the team.

We only have two years to turn Joe's train wreck around. But, we also have a mandate.

So, why do these Republicans want to grandstand on every single issue and squander the only chance we have left to us????

They have ALWAYS done this because they are selfish and short sighted. It's how we GOT here!

I get the part about “free speech”.

However, as a person that is supposed to represent ALL of her constituents, her comments disqualify her.

In the next city over there is a councilman that bashed Charlie Kirk, and responded over the top to someone that called him on it. Told the person to F*&% off, and you are no better than that Nazi Kirk so go F yourself. Even though the city is perhaps only 30% Republican, I’m not sure having such a councilman on there that, by extrapolation, wishes you were dead, is a good thing.
