Trump Says He Will Sanction Russia After Putin Launches Largest Air Attack of the War

President Donald Trump said he was ready to sanction Russia after Moscow launched its largest air attack against Ukraine since the start of the war on Sunday, setting Kyiv’s government headquarters on fire and killing at least five, including one infant.

Forty-four more were injured in the attack that the Ukrainian Defense Department said included over 800 Shahed-type strike drones, 9 Iskander-K cruise missiles, and 4 Iskander-M ballistic missiles, which hit residential apartments and set ablaze the main government building where ministers meet.

It was the second mass Russian drone and missile attack to target Kyiv in as many weeks, and comes less than a month after Trump's high-stakes peace talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska failed to achieve a ceasefire.

Trump has been under mounting pressure from allies to impose greater sanctions on Russia for its continued attacks on Ukraine, but the president continued to insist that he could negotiate an end to the war even as Putin showed little interest in halting his invasion.

Asked by reporters on Sunday if he was ready to impose a second round of sanctions against Russia following the attack, Trump said: “Yeah, I am.”

Additional sanctions on the pittance of trade we do with Russia.

Those who believe there will be secondary sanctions on additional Russian energy customers (Turkey, China, EU) are deluded.

And the US will keep buying Russian metals without Tariff.

We still buy Russian enriched uranium to the tune of about 25-30% of America’s nuclear power generation.

Although a law was passed to officially phase this out by 2028, nuclear power plants in the USA have already applied for exemptions, because they do not have viable options to replace this supply.

We also buy about $1 billion worth of phosphate fertilizer. Although this is produced in the USA and Canada, there must be a hole Russia is filling, for this trade to have survived through 10+ years of ever-stronger sanctions.

otherwise, Trump will have to seriously sanction 3rd parties, like India, which will have consequences his advisors have not considered.

Trump thinks he is the world’s policeman. He will really be sanctioning US consumers — by taxing their imports from nations who want to trade with Russia, a nation that is not our enemy.

The problem with Putin is that he is a child of the Soviet warmongering Era.
He doesn’t care about doing business. War is more important. Who is paying for Russia’s war?

Answer:
Russian tax-payers, the draining of what’s left of the Russian national wealth-fund, the Russian Military Industrial Complex which has replaced much of the civilian economy, massive contributions from communist North Korea (in exchange for nuclear proliferation), massive help from communist China which is overflowing the Russian war-machine with essential electronics and gear. And let’s not forget the Islamic Shahed drone technology IRAN gave for free to Russia in exchange for Nuclear proliferation.

Putin escalated the war like a demented madman the very day after he met Trump in Alaska. It’s his way of defying Trump’s push for peace.

No wonder Trump is furious at the Kremlin right now. Russia has smashed so many red lines these last two weeks it’s become almost surreal.

Trump is right. He must FORCE Putin into peace.

“Is it your point that Trump is pussy footing around Putin’s misbehavior.”

No.

He’s gaming the Neocons and Ukrainian Partisans...telling them what they want to hear while the Russian war machine keeps creeping along.

“Trump is right. He must FORCE Putin into peace.”

Where did he say that?

I missed it

This is the dumbest crap I have ever seen. The US is reliant on Russia for Uranium. Russia is totally self sufficient and needs no trade partners. Then they can go to most of the world for anything. Gee what can we get from South America, Africa, the Middle East and China.

Would someone kindly slam the US warmongers faces into a very old and thick wooden door.

To revisit your stupidity. You were going devide Russia and China. Ok, that worked well. Things that you can’t make up. Now you think you can devide them through military means via Ukraine and Taiwan. Thankfully Trump is backing out of that. It’s now Europe’s clown show. I’ll put $1000 down that Ukraine is gone in 3 years and is back as part of Russia. Please tell me about the last military conflict that you won?

Trump conceced that there would be no ceasefire, and that only an end was acceptable to both Ukraine and Russia.

Zelinski has given an interview where he says Ukraine is winning as long as they still hold some of Ukraine, in essence.

Trump wants to take control of Venezula’s proven oil reserves, the largest in the entire world....

China and Russia becoming Sanction Proof. China is now allowing Russian companies to borrow money or float bonds on Chinese markets. Economic ties are getting stronger everyday.

One of the Trump first term objectives was to get EUrope off of Russian Oil. Another of his strategic goals was to disrupt the Chinese Belts and Roads initiative for trade routes... Today China and Russia have been driven together - India is further alienated by this administraiton.

Ukraine was the reason for DNC/Deep State domestic lawfare against Trump and the Russian Hoax. Everything was tied to Ukraine.

Ukraine has been the biggest US International, Foreign Policy, and Strategic failure in our history.

US Strategic goals were to prevent China and Russia from joining together. To peel off India. To disrupt Chinese trade.

Today, the EU is econonmically gutted, and in recession with governments falling in major countries - Project Ukriane is the reason.

Trump is only half-hearted on this Trade War at this juncture. He now can see the folly and failure, resulting in the loss of important mineral trade and isolation to a great degree by his own decree.

Trump or somebody will eventually have to address the failure of Project Ukraine, from the Coup by Vicky the Vampire Neuland, and all the Switf, 18 rounds of sanctions, seizure/theft of Russian assets, and more sanctions and tariffs.

Trump may be trying to draw attention away from Ukraine by internturism in VN and S.America.

Russia is completely self sufficient?

Maybe in some other universe.

Russian economy is dependent on selling oil that ends up in the West.

Russia is a tiny troubled economy. As for the war, they are dependent on Iran, China and North Korea.

Just because you want to believe something....

Glad you read Trump’s mind and know that everything is a trick he’s playing based on your world view.

No, fighting the narco cartels is not just a distraction from Ukraine.

“Aren’t you suggesting that Trump is praising Putin by faint damnation?”

Not at all.

I’s saying he’s stringing along Ukrainian Partisans and Neocons. He’s deceiving them, which is easy due to their zeal.

You’re not waiting because you aren’t open to learning anything.

Letting Russia take Ukraine would be a signal that China can take Taiwan.

But probably you don’t understand the importance of Europe or Asia.
