A federal appeals court rejected President Donald Trump’s bid to overturn a jury verdict ordering him to pay $83.3 million for defaming writer E. Jean Carroll. Trump had argued that judgment was both excessive and invalid following a Supreme Court decision that expanded his presidential immunity.

GOP loyalists need to pull these same stunts on democrats. Get Tara Reade back in the country, change the laws temporarily, sue Biden in to bankruptcy and destroy his rotten family’s name. Take it to the Supreme Court. I think they’re based in reality these days, at least the majority is.
Trump should be setting out to prove what a sham the trial was. Where a judge was blocking evidence for Trump’s defense. And creating evidence against him. Also jury selection was also tainted by the judge.
Why, that’s just not who we are.

This was settled nearly 30 years ago in Clinton v Jones.
As someone who - perhaps stupidly; because in hindsight, I could have found better uses for my money I suppose - contributed to Paula Jones’ legal defense fund?
This appeal should be shot down on the basis of the appeal (”Presidential Immunity”).
The principle is important and SCOTUS ruled properly.
Call me whatever you want. But - the courts ruled properly back in the 90s and my principles extend beyond any one individual.
Call me what you want - and I make no statement regarding the merits or any errors in the trial.
But the appeal was *rightly* shot down based on the avenue attempted.... because it’s the same exact BS Bubba tried to use.

On what grounds would they take the appeal? For now, I say, IMHO, they won’t.
This will not happen. As card carrying members of the uniparty the GOP was all on board with doing this to Trump, none of them objected in any meaningful way. They failed to recognize that a line was crossed and think this was just about Trump. Wrong, the dems never cross a line thinking it's just this one time, they think 'precedent now gives us a new tool to drive the revolution forward'.
Except for the fact that the US Supreme Court operates under The America Rule. So, if Carroll loses she will only have to pay her own costs and fees.
