A painting of Gen. Robert E. Lee dressed in his Confederate uniform is back on display in the West Point's library, several years after the storied academy removed honors to the Civil War military leader.
There also are plans to restore a bust of Lee that had been removed from a plaza at the U.S. Military Academy, and a quote from Lee about honor that was removed from a separate plaza is now on display beneath the portrait, an Army spokesperson said Tuesday.

The NDAA FY2021 removed all Civil War history after Pelosi signed the bill into law as part of the George Floyd Legacy Project.

Good, now change back the name of that Springfield, VA high school. I’m tired of my childhood landmarks disappearing.

He was not only a top graduate of West Point, he served in the U.S. Army for 32 years, and was Superintendent there prior to the Civil War as well. He certainly deserves to be honored.
They, even Repukes, praised a scumbag like Ted Kennedy, who left a woman submerged in his car, forcing her to suffocate to death, went in hiding until he sobered up, and then lied about the incident. Thank God he never sullied the halls of Annapolis. I hope that bastard is rotting in Hell.

If he had taken Lincoln’s offer to be his General the Civil War wouldn’t have lasted long.

Comparing Gen Lee with the swimmer is a scummy thing to do.

He was an American soldier. Sure beats putting up a portrait of some foreign goon.

Robert E. Lee was a gentleman with honor and a talented general.
He could not overcome the Northern states advantages in industry, technology, and manpower.
The South counted on British interests in needing cotton, and the British had started to obtain cotton from Egypt...

Now, I’m hearing Joan Baez sing that song again:

A lot of people don’t realize how much of a soldier’s life he lived, it included living in Texas and fighting indians.

How does anyone know who’s going to be the best general when war breaks out? How did Wm. Westmorland make it to the top?

I never compared him to Ted Kennedy. I simply pointed out that RATS and Repukes praised the Swimmer, but were fine with dishonoring General Lee.

Likely true, but when the time came to pick a side, he remained loyal to his State of birth and heritage.
